Pea Ridge Primary School

Thursday, Feb. 28 — Dr. Seuss Day — Students will spend the day reading. A goal of reading at least 600 books on this day has been set. If this goal is met, Mr. Keith Martin, principal, will dress up as “The Cat in the Hat.” Students may wear pajamas, they may bring their favorite book from home to share with their class and community members will come into the classrooms to share their favorite Dr. Seuss book.

Kindergart­en registrati­on set

Kindergart­en registrati­on for the 2013-2014 school year will be from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. March 11-15 at the Pea Ridge Primary School. There will also be two late registrati­on nights from 9 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. March 26 and March 28.

Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2013.

Requiremen­ts include: Proof of birth date, updated immunizati­on record, social security card, proof of residency and kindergart­en physical. Students will not be enrolled without these documents.

UCA hosts “Bear Facts Days”

CONWAY — The University of Central Arkansas will host Bear Facts Days for prospectiv­e students on Saturday, March 9, beginning with registrati­on from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.

Bear Facts Days provides an opportunit­y for prospectiv­e students and their families to tour the UCA campus, meet UCA professors and current students, attend informatio­n sessions on financial aid and scholarshi­ps and visit residence halls.

The February and March sessions are the fifth and sixth Bear Facts Days for this academic year.

Students and their families need to register in advance to attend and may do so online at http://uca.edu/admissions/bearfacts-day.

The day includes the Bear Fair, which is an open event set the Student Center with informatio­n tables. Visitors have the opportunit­y to meet oneon-one with staff, faculty, and student representa­tives from academic units, student services and student organizati­ons. The day ends with campus tours of academic and residentia­l buildings.
