Dorothy ‘Dot’ Dickey

Dorothy “Dot” Dickey, 81, of Jonesboro, Ark., died March 8, 2013, at her home. She was born on June 4, 1931, to Claud and Irene Hollingswo­rth Tingle in Jackson, Miss.

She attended Millsaps College in Jackson before transferri­ng to Delta State College at Cleveland, Miss., where she met her husband, David.

They married and lived in Drew, Miss., until 1955 at which time they moved to West Memphis where Mr. Dickey worked as a logging contractor. They belonged to the Methodist Church where she was involved in teaching Sunday school, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and the United Methodist Women.

She was in the Garden Club and Junior Auxiliary. She and her husband helped establish the Boy’s Club when it first started. In 1969 they left West Memphis with five children and moved to Trumann to be close to the saw mill. In 1979, they moved to Earle after the saw mill was destroyed by fire. She worked as a librarian for 22 years. She lived in Earle for 26 years before moving to Jonesboro in 2005.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, David Dickey Sr.; a brother, Claud Tingle Jr.; and a sister, Mary Selah.

Survivors include her children, Sara (Russ) Holmes of Signal Mountain, Tenn., David (Suzanne) Dickey of Pea Ridge, Bob (Belva) Dickey of Remington, Va., Camille (Ricky) Timbs of Trumann, Rex (Cindy) Dickey of Bella Vista; 10 grandchild­ren; and five great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro with the Rev. John Miles II and the Rev. John Soward officiatin­g.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis.

Serving as active pallbearer­s will be Ben Dickey, Nathan Holmes, John Tyler Timbs, Joseph Timbs, Preston Timbs, Philip Dickey, Paul Dickey and Dewey Graves.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that lasting memorials be made to Wesley on the Ridge, 300 Creath, Jonesboro, AR 72401 or St. Bernards Hospice, 1726 Marie Circle, Jonesboro, AR 72401.

Lennie Ann Echols

Lennie Ann Echols, 65, of Anderson, Mo., died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Anderson. She was born July 5, 1947, in Phoenix, Ariz.

She had an adventurou­s spirit and enjoyed dancing, reading, movies, collecting, drawing and Elvis. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Chuck Potter and Johnny Potter.

Survivors include two sons, Willie Echols and his wife, Alisa, of Rogers, and Carl Echols of Garfield; one daughter, Linda Turner of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Thelma Echols of Grove, Okla., and Frances Potter of

Monett, Mo.; two brothers, David Potter and Tommy Potter, both of Missouri; and five grandchild­ren, Dessiree Barnes, Josh Turner, Sheila Echols, Deana Patton and Jessie Echols.

Memorial services were at 10 a.m. March 8, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel.

Fred R. Jack, 56, of Seligman, Mo., died Friday, March 1, 2013, in his home. He was born March 15, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Fred and Hollis Richardson Jack.

After 20 years in the U.S. Army, he retired and attended police academy in Camden, Ark. In December of 1997, he joined the Bethel Heights Police Department, where he served until 2002 when he was elected mayor. In 2010, he did not seek re-election, but instead worked with his son at their business, Rapid Prototypes.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Jack, of the home; son, Kyle Jack and wife, Kelly, of Rogers; brother, Sam Jack of Diamond, Mo.; sisters, Lioba Arrendondo of Carthage, Mo., Teresa Hedge of Webb City, Mo., Zoe Ann Hedge of Diamond, Mo., Lorena Messenger of Springfiel­d, Mo., Michelle Smelser of Carthage, Mo., Gabrielle Brookshire of Gerard, Kan.; and three grandchild­ren, Chelsey Cowan and husband, Caleb, Cody Martin and Jacob Jack, all of Rogers.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. A reception will follow.

Kathryn Jones

Kathryn Jones, 70, of Garfield, died March 3, 2013, in Lowell. She was born on Sept. 8, 1942, in Great Bend, Kan., to James and Viola (Palmer) Hoge.

She was the wife of Steven Jones for many years.

She was the director of nursing for five years at the Kelmark Nursing Home in Rogers. She was an avid reader, loved living on Beaver Lake, enjoyed going to the Rogers Little Theater and traveling to Eureka Springs for concerts and art exhibits.

Survivors include her husband, Steven, of Garfield; four sons, James L. and Christina Christians­en of California, Ben and Joanna Christians­en of Rogers, Jack and Sonya Guthrie of Lowell, and Jason Werner and Rendy Mohr of Kansas; brother, Tom Hoge; 16 grandchild­ren; and nine great-grandchild­ren.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.

Nell Helen Pederson

Nell Helen Pederson, 87, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Friday, March 8, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayettevil­le. She was born Sept. 12, 1925, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., to Martha Ann Tendal and J.E. Edlin.

She was a unit secretary at St. Mary’s Rogers Memorial Hospital for many years. She enjoyed spending quality time with all her grandchild­ren, fishing, gardening and serving with Marriage Encounter for many years. She had lived in the northwest Arkansas for her lifetime. She was a member at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Loren Pederson Sr. in 1999; three brothers; three sisters; and her granddaugh­ter, Desondra Comi.

Survivors include her son, Loren D. “Larry” Pederson and his wife, Hes, of Rogers; two daughters, Paula. R. Pierce and her husband, Carl, of Hermann, Mo., and Cathy L. Comi and her husband, Ron, of Eureka Springs; two sisters, Wilma DeClerk and her husband, Johnnie, of Pocahontas and Marie Forhand of Rogers; five grandchild­ren; and 11 great-grandchild­ren.

A Mass of Christian burial was at 2:30 p.m. March 9, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. Interment followed at St. Vincent Cemetery in Rogers.

Pallbearer­s were her family members.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Owen Eugene Taylor

Owen Eugene Taylor, 90, of Garfield, died March 6, 2013, in Garfield. He was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Washburn, Mo., to Benjamin Garland and Snoe Anderson Taylor.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Corps, having served during WW II. He retired from the Arkansas Highway Department and was a farmer in Garfield. He loved his family, friends and his farm.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie Taylor Strout; and by one brother, E.J. Taylor.

Survivors include wife, Helen Louise Taylor of the home; a daughter, Lynda and her husband, Joe Maniscalco, of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Vivian Pitts of Garfield, Juanita Gillam of Anderson, Mo.; and three grandchild­ren, April Daun Strout, Grace Anne Maniscalco and Elissabeth Snoe Maniscalco.

Visitation was from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers.

Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Monday, March 11, at the First Baptist Church in Garfield.

Interment will be in the Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.

Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Clifford Eugene Beehler

Clifford Eugene Beehler, 78, of Garfield died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at his home. He was born July 26, 1934, in Centralia, Okla., to Fred R. Beehler and Grace Louise Ellis.

Mr. Beehler was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the Navy as an AT3 in reconnaiss­ance for four years; an electronic specialist for 10 years with McDonnell-Douglas; owner and home builder with Village Custom Builders and owner of Lost Bridge Resort for 30 years. He and his wife, Mary, served as foster parents for 20 years. He was a faithful member of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as church board member and chairman of the Facilities and Grounds Committee for many years.

He loved his children and grandchild­ren. He was a friend and helper to all. In the later months of his life, he was blessed with services from Circle of Life Hospice of Springdale, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Morris, Donald and Myron.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Beehler of the home; three children, Janet White and husband, John, of Gravette, Scott Beehler and wife, Angie, of Pea Ridge, and Nancy Autry and husband, Curtiss, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Frieda Spaulding of Wichita, Kan., and Tinnie King and husband, Gale, of Bartlesvil­le, Okla.; six grandchild­ren; and six great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Road, Rogers, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Alan Johnson officiatin­g.

Military honors by the Rogers American Legion Post 100. Interment will be at the Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield.

Memorials may be made to Building Fund of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene.

Charles Doyle

Charles Evan Doyle, 60, of West Fork, Ark., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Wichita, Kan., to Charles Marion Doyle and Thelma Burnett Schremeck.

He was the owner and operator of Traditiona­l Heat and Air, which serves the Northwest Arkansas and Missouri areas.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparen­ts, Evan and Voleta Burnett; his paternal grandparen­ts, Walton and Maxine Doyle; one brother, Richard Wayne Doyle.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Johnson Doyle of West Fork; his father, Charles Marion Doyle of Fayettevil­le; and his mother, Thelma Burnett Schremeck of Russellvil­le, Ark.; three sons, Charles Evan Doyle II, Millard Jason Doyle and Jeftery Walton Doyle, all of West Fork; two brothers, Stephen D. Doyle of Seligman, Mo., and James L. Doyle of Elkins, Ark.; one sister, Cathryn J. Staggs of Russellvil­le; three grandchild­ren, Charles Evan Doyle III, Johnson Dale Doyle and Katie Elizabeth Doyle, all of West Fork.

Visitation was March 10 in Ozark, Ark.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Trinity Full Gospel Church, 3888 Silent Grove Road, Springdale, with Larry Graber officiatin­g.
