Dorothy M. Edmundson

Dorothy M. Edmundson, 83, of Van Buren, Ark., died Sunday, March 17, 2013, in a local hospital. She was born May 4, 1929, in Houston, Texas, to Raymond and Maggie Parr.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Extension Homemaker’s Club of Van Buren. She enjoyed crafts and flower gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Parr, and a sister, Joann Holtkamp.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Frank, of the home; two sons, Robert Edmundson and wife, Gwen, of Pea Ridge, and Richard Edmundson of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Larry Parr and wife, Linda, of Humble, Texas; four grandchild­ren; and one great-grandchild.

There will be a public viewing and visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Edwards VanAlma Funeral Home in Van Buren.

Cremation is under the direction of Edwards VanAlma Funeral Home of Van Buren.

Burial of ashes will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery at a later date.

Tony Edward Fletcher Jr.

Tony Edward Fletcher Jr., 79, of Pea Ridge, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home. He was born in Rogers, Ark., on July 27, 1933, to Tony Edward Fletcher Sr. and Stella Helen Noland Fletcher.

Mr. Fletcher graduated from Rogers High School, served in the U.S. Army and was a supervisor at RTW from 1965-2002.

He was a member of Twelve Corners Baptist Church in Pea Ridge. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Fayettevil­le and the Moose Lodge in Springdale.

He served on the Pea Ridge School Board for 15 years; served on the Benton County School Board for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Therese “Terry” Fletcher; twin infant daughters, Deborah and Ann Fletcher; and two sisters, Leatrice Sigmon of Odessa, Texas, and Imandy Cunningham of Pea Ridge.

Survivors include a son, Tony E. Fletcher III and wife, Teresa, of Centerton, a daughter, Tina M. Fischer and husband, Richard, of Rogers; one sister, Louise Taylor of Garfield; seven grandchild­ren, Theresa (Tessa) Fischer of Bentonvill­e, Michelle Fischer Bachelor and Nate of Rogers, Christophe­r Fletcher of Edmond, Oklahoma, Johnni Sue Fletcher Earnst and John of Springdale, Anna Gray and Brad of Little Rock, Haley Jean Lyle of Centerton; and two greatgrand­children, Alice Teeter of Centerton and Adrianna Fischer of Rogers.

Memorial service is set for 2:30 p.m.Thursday, March 21, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with pastor Rick Booyer officiatin­g.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

Stanley Lackey

Stanley Lackey, 55, of Seligman, Mo., died from injuries in an automobile accident March 12, 2013.

Survivors include his wife, Rose M. Lackey; three sons, Michael Lackey of Lowell, Joey and Adam Lackey of Jefferson; one daughter, Amanda Lackey of Jefferson; and four brothers.

Private memorial services will be later.

Donald Schnitzer

Donald Schnitzer, 75, of Gateway, Ark., died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Shiloh Nursing Care and Rehabilita­tion in Springdale, Ark. He was born in Gateway on April 4, 1937, to Henry and Maude May (Relethford) Schnitzer.

He worked as a farmer and he really enjoyed selling produce at the local farmers markets.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Schnitzer.

Survivors include three sisters, Henrietta “Sis” Coble of Arizona, Helen Wild of Colorado and Mary Katherine Suddath and husband, Paul, of Arizona; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Gateway.

Interment will follow at Bayless Cemetery, across the street from New Prospect Baptist Church in Gateway.
