Jones and Beehler in American Miss Arkansas

Chloe Rachelle Jones , 11, of Garfield, and Melanie Beehler, 14, of Pea Ridge, have been chosen as state finalists in the National American Miss AR Pageant to be held June 27 – 29, at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Springdale.

Miss Jones is the daughter of Rashidi and Michelle Jones.

Miss Beehler is the daughter of Scott and Angie Beehler.

Miss Jones’ activities include writing and studying to become an author. She has recently enjoyed being a weather anchor in “Morning Broadcast” at Garfield Elementary. She also loves animals and caring for her pets. She enjoys music, spending time with her family and being active in her church at the 13th St. Church of Christ, Rogers, Ark.

Her accomplish­ments and Awards consist of Advanced scoring in the 2011-12 Benchmark Exam, two time winner of the “Top Dog” Award, “Writer of the Month,” a two-time winner of the “Author Award,” and “Perfect Attendance” for four quarters, all at Garfield Elementary.

Miss Beehler’s activities include basketball, managing track, FBLA, girl scouts, FFA, SEEK and Quiz Bowl. She also enjoys listening to music, running, shopping, church and spending time with family and friends.

The National American Miss pageants are held for girls ages 4-18, and have five different age divisions. Miss Jones will be participat­ing in the Pre-teen age division, along with other outstandin­g young ladies from across the great state of Arkansas.

The winner of the Pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transporta­tion to compete in the National Pageant in Califor- nia where she will receive an exciting compliment­ary Tour of Hollywood and two V.I.P. tickets to Disneyland®.

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebratin­g America’s future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills. Each year the pageant nationally awards more than $1.5 million in cash, scholarshi­ps and other prizes, which includes a New Ford Mustang Convertibl­e!

The National American Miss Pageants are unlike any other. All activities and competitio­ns are kept age appropriat­e. Girls under the age of 12 are not allowed to wear make-up, and there is no swimsuit competitio­n. The Pageant program is based on inner-beauty, as well as poise and presentati­on, and offers an “All-American spirit of fun for family and friends.” Emphasis is placed on the importance of developing self confidence, learning good sportsmans­hip, as well as setting and achieving goals. The Pageant recognizes the accomplish­ments of each girl while encouragin­g her to set goals for her future.
