Mary Alice Banks

Mary Alice Banks, 71, of McAlester, Okla., died March 22, 2013, at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born on April 4, 1941, in McAlester to Lester and Lola (Barlow) Gann.

She graduated from Indianola High School as salutatori­an. She married Charles G. Banks in 1970 in Miami. She worked for Southweste­rn Bell then for Amos Constructi­on Co. in Oklahoma City as office manager and on-site bookkeeper.

She then moved to Arkansas, where she worked as a real estate agent. She enjoyed fishing, fine arts and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved all animals and going on trips and hunting trips with her husband. Recently she enjoyed spending time at her lake home in the Big Sky area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles G. Banks; two sisters, Earlene Bice and Carol Shackelfor­d; and a brother, Larry Gann.

Survivors include a stepdaught­er, Patti Carol Banks-Groshaus of Pea Ridge; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Sheila Gann of Lawrence, Kan., Gary K. and Fernanda Gann of Tulsa and Wayne and Marilyn Gann of McAlester; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joy (Gann) Woody of Crowder and Pam (Gann) and Norman Tubb of Lowell, Ark.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pam Shirk officiatin­g.

Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Dulcie Mae Browder

Dulcie Mae Browder, 88, of Bentonvill­e, died March 29, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonvill­e. She was born in Buck Creek, Okla., on June 5, 1924, to Columbus and Cora (Cummins) Hood.

She married William Leonard Carter; 10 children were born to them. After their divorce, she met Wilbur “Bill” Browder whom, as the story is told, she told that she had $10 million and no children. After they were married on March 3, 1966, he discovered that she had 10 children and no money, but he still became a true father to them. Above all, she was an amazing mother and she raised her children well.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Leonard Carter and Wilbur Fisk “Bill” Browder; sons, William Leroy Carter and Gary Richard Carter; five grandchild­ren and 10 siblings.

Survivors include her children, Rondall Joe Carter (Angie) of San Jose, Calif., Donald Ray Carter (Carolyn) of Bentonvill­e, Leta Faye Ingram of Bentonvill­e, Cora Wyona “Wino” Wyatt (Orval) of Pea Ridge, Thomas Eugene Carter (Sandy) of Buford, Ga., Sondra Mae Bailey (Paul) of Rogers, Jerry Lee Carter (Lori) of Bentonvill­e, Pamela Jean McBroom (Wayne) of Meeteetse, Wyo., and Paula Griswold (Gary) of El Cajon, Calif.; a brother, Ray Hood of Pocola, Okla.; 29 grandchild­ren; 59 greatgrand­children; and 18 great-great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by chaplain Jo Jones.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, Okla.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Stroke Associatio­n.

Belinda Lou Jarrett

Belinda Lou Jarrett, 63, died March 24, 2013. She was born on Oct. 13, 1949, to Harrison William Harvey and Christine Eastep.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Lynn Hamilton; sister, Dorris Gayle Landis; and stepgrands­on, Justin O’Leary.

Survivors include her sons, David Sterling, Charles Sterling Jr. and Clay Sterling, all of Rogers; two brothers, Clay Leroy Harvey and wife, Marlena, of Garfield, and Harrison Guy Harvey of Pharoah, Okla.; sister, Marsha Ward and husband, Oliver, of Rogers; two step-grandchild­ren, Hannah Jefteries and Patrick O’Leary; best friends, Berline Undernehr and Margarette Ragland; and nieces, nephews, cous- ins, friends and loved ones.

Visitation was at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Rollins Funeral Home on Arkansas Highway 102.

Services were at 2 p.m., with Bro. Del Honeycutt presiding.

Graveside was at the Rogers Cemetery immediatel­y following.

James Doyle Walker

James Doyle “JD” Walker, 68, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home. He was born May 8, 1944, in Bentonvill­e, Ark., to Dottie and David Arthur Walker.

He owned and operated his roofing company, JD Walker Roofing, for over 35 years. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, classic cars, spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchild­ren, and visiting with his brothers and sisters. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he obtained an honorable discharge. He was a lifetime resident of the northwest Arkansas area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Dorothy Pruitt, Mary Townsend and Bonnie Walker.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Walker of the home, whom he married May 19, 1971; two sons, David A. Walker of Rogers and James B. Undernehr of Avoca; two daughters, Latricia Rudman and her husband, Charl, of Rogers and Stephanni Wood of Rogers; two brothers, Connie “C.H.” Walker and his wife, Clois, of Bentonvill­e and Onnie Walker and his wife, Sue, of Pea Ridge; three sisters, Glenna Thompson of California, Reba Windle and her husband, Virgil, of Kansas, and Shirley Womack and her husband, Bill, of Bentonvill­e; 10 grandchild­ren; and three great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Eastside Assembly of God in Bentonvill­e.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Eastside Assembly of God.

Graveside service was at 4 p.m. Friday, March 29, at Zion Hill Cemetery in Pope County, Ark.

Memorials may be sent to Circle of Life Hospice.

Gene ‘Woody’ Wilson

Gene “Woody” Wilson, 52, died March 26, 2013, in Rogers. He was born on Nov. 7, 1960, in Yucaipa, Calif., to Boyce and Marjorie (Warner) Wilson of Rogers.

He was the husband of Pamela (McMurray) Draper Wilson of Gateway. He was a three-year survivor of cancer.

He loved fishing, hunting, riding rail-buggies and listening to all kinds of music, especially Molly Hatchet. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and never knew a stranger.

Survivors include his parents of Rogers; his wife, Pam; two daughters, Tara Meeks, and Jennifer and husband, Robert Stewart, all of Gateway; brothers, Charles Wilson of Neosho, Mo., and Richard Wilson of Bentonvill­e; sisters, Karen Granado and Janelle Wilson, both of Rogers; grandchild­ren, Brandon Stewart, Nicholas Frias, Makayla Palumbo, Colton Perkins and Konner Meeks; and his friend, Henry.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. March 29, 2013, in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. A reception followed.
