BELLAFLIES STRIDES FOR STROKES

BELLA VISTA — “Strides for Strokes,” a 5K, will be held at 6 p.m. on May 17, 2013, by the Bellaflies Foundation to raise pediatric stroke awareness in northwest Arkansas. The foundation was founded in memory of Bella Paquette who suffered massive pediatric strokes on 9/11/11 at the age of 3 due to unknown causes. The race will be held at Lake Bella Vista.

The race is a certified 5k and one-mile fun run/walk. There are many family friendly activities including: a glow run, face painting, raffle (hog painting, Lewis & Clark climbing party, roller derby season pass, ornaments, Activision Blizzard game sets, and more), KDA dance performanc­e, Bella Vista Fire Department and much more.

Entrants can register for “Strides for Strokes” by going to www.bellaflies.org and clicking on the “Strides for Strokes” tab at the top of the page. Each adult will receive a technical T-shirt, and kids will receive a cotton T-shirt. The top three male and female racers will win awards as will the top three in every age group. Each pre-registered participan­t will receive a goodie bag. In order to be guaranteed a T-shirt, register by April 16. Race results will be posted on www.bellaflies.org and www.arkansasru­nner.com. If unable to attend, supporters can help “Strides for Strokes” by registerin­g as a virtual runner, and they will ship the T-shirt to supporters.
