Gary Martin Brown

Gary Martin Brown, 57, of Crawford, Tenn., formerly of Pea Ridge, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1956, in San Diego, Calif., to Glen And Audrey Langford Brown.

He was a United States Navy veteran. He was a military aviation electricia­n. He was employed with StonePeak in Crossville as an industrial electricia­n.

Survivors include his wife, Darcel Gray Brown of Crawford, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Jason Sprinkles of Pea Ridge; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jamie Brown of Pea Ridge, and Justin and Secilly Brown of Bella Vista; three stepchildr­en, Jeremy and Amy Geus of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Jason and Shannon Geus of Zanesville, Ohio, and James and Nicole Geus of Jacksonvil­le, Fla.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda Gibson of Bentonvill­e and Patty and Jim Richardson of Kansas, Okla.; and 18 grandchild­ren.

A memorial service was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 3, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge.

Burial was in Fayettevil­le National Cemetery following the service.

Joyce Arlene Goodwin

Joyce Arlene Goodwin, 68, of Seligman, Mo., died Wednesday, May 29, at her home. She was born June 21, 1944, in Fremont, Ohio, to Cecil Louis Slane and Bessie Marie Bork.

She was a housekeepe­r and attended the Full Gospel Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, David Lee Cutberth and a great-grandchild, Carlyn Jo Leann Hammers.

Survivors include her husband Roy Lee “Buddy” Goodwin of Cecil, Ohio; three sons, Ray Cutberth Jr. and wife Roxanne and Ricky Cutbert all of Seligman, Donnie Cutberth and wife Sherry of Jacket, Mo.; two stepsons, Leroy Goodwin of Defiance, Ohio, Ronald Goodwin and wife Roxie of Bryan, Ohio; two stepdaught­ers, Margaret Goodwin of Defiance, Ohio, and Charlene Goodwin of Cecil, Ohio.; a brother, Bob Slane of Jacket; a half brother, Scott Slane of Fremont, Ohio; three sisters, Cecilia Slane, Nancy Bartlett and Beverly Stull all of Fremont, Ohio; 18 grandchild­ren; and 13 great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was 4-6 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the funeral home.

Services were 3 p.m. Monday, June 3, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with Pastor Kevin Fletcher officiatin­g.

Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery in Jacket, Mo.

Arrangemen­ts are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Victor Richard Juarez

Victor Richard “Poppy” Juarez, 97, of Avoca, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Circle of Life Legacy Village in Bentonvill­e. He was born Dec. 23, 1915, in Arkalon, Kan., to Milton King Juarez and Isabel Medina Juarez.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a longtime member of Trinity Apostolic Faith Church in Cave Springs, Ark., and loved his wife and family with all his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Addie Copeland Juarez; two daughters, Patricia Reynolds and husband, Jim, of Dalhart, Texas, Ramona Laramore and husband, Kenny, of Rogers; one brother; five grandchild­ren; and four great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at Trinity Apostolic Faith Church in Cave Springs with the Revs. Alvin Bushman, Randy Dalton and Jacob Waggoner officiatin­g.

Burial was at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, at the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le with full military honors.

Melinda Sue Smith

Melinda Sue Smith, 73, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, June 1, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born May 7, 1940, at Pico Rivera, Calif., to Charles Harry Wilson and Jennie Mae Russell Wilson.

She moved to this area in 2006 from Tulsa, Okla., to make her home. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, painting, hand quilting, crocheting and crocheting bedspreads. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kelly Hammond; one brother, Douglas Henry Wilson; and one sister, Patricia Dale Wilson.

Survivors include three daughters, La Donna Jean Williams of Rogers, Dana Arlene VanHouse and husband Bob of Jenks, Okla., Regina Dale Smith of Sapulpa, Okla.; stepmother, Juanita Marie LaFollette Wilson of El Reno, Okla.; eight grandchild­ren; and eight great-grandchild­ren.

Graveside service is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at Buttram Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge with Chaplain Chuck Bengtson officiatin­g.

Arrangemen­ts are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

No visitation is scheduled.

Mark Andrew Smithhart

Mark Andrew Smithhart, 45, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., died May 26, 2013. He was born Nov. 6, 1967, in Modesto, Calif.

As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Army. He went on to work as a welder after his discharge. He enjoyed spending time with his family and woodworkin­g. He was also a member of the VFW Post in Siloam Springs.

Survivors include his son, Joshua Andrew Smithhart of Pea Ridge; daughter, Nichole Lynn Janes and husband, Joshua, of Decatur; and grandsons, Jamie, Landen, Bentley and Rohan.

Arrangemen­ts were with Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3800 W. Walnut, Rogers.

Alvin Joe Yeubanks

Alvin Joe Yeubanks, 63, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Thursday, May 30, at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1949 in Torrington, Wyo., to Alvin W. Yeubanks and Frances Mann Yeubanks.

He was a self-employed carpenter in home constructi­on and loved hunting, fishing and riding motorcycle­s.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Neal and wife Amanda of Seligman, Mo., and Danny Yeubanks of Gaylord, Mich.; two daughters, Latina Creason and husband Anthony of Jane, Mo., and Amy Hook and husband Bryan of Davenport, Iowa; one brother, Mike Yeubanks, of Bryant, Ark.; one sister, of California; 13 grandchild­ren; one great-grandchild; and several brothers in the Southern Brotherhoo­d M.C.

Cremation arrangemen­ts were with Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. No services are planned at this time.
