Country Breakfast slated

GARFIELD— The annual Labor Day country breakfast is 7-10 a.m., Sept. 2, at the Northeast Benton County Volunteer Fire/EMS Department Community Center, sponsored by NEBCO Fire/ EMS. The breakfast includes sausage, bacon, ham, eggs, potatoes, pancakes, drinks, and biscuits and gravy. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-12 and free for children under 5. All proceeds go to the NEBCO Emergency Medical Services.

Turkey Shoot slated

GARFIELD— The 20th annual Turkey Shoot and Rib Cook-off will be held 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at NEBCO Fire station No. 1, U.S. Hwy. 62 and S. Wimpy Jones Road, Garfield, sponsored by NEBCO Fire/EMS.

The Turkey Shoot will be from 9 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. and will include shotgun, clay bird, poker and archery events.

The rib lunch will be from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and cost $9 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. The lunch includes baby back pork ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, dessert, and drinks.

Other events include bingo from 10 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., a silent auction from 10 a.m.3 p.m., a raffle will be held all day, kids games including daisy BB gun range and face painting, and all-day concession­s on site. Items to be raffled include a 52” Vizio flat screen TV and a kayak.

Train Ride slated

SELIGMAN, Mo. — The train ride to Van Buren, Ark., will be Saturday, Oct. 12, sponsored by the Seligman Chamber of Commerce. This will be an all day trip to attend the arts and craft days in Van Buren. The ride includes going though the Boston Mountains, across rivers, across three high trestles, go though Winslow tunnel and stop in Van Buren. For informatio­n call 417 -6623612 or 662-3450.
