Kind Kitchen Bakery opening in December

- LAURA MARTS prtnews@nwaonline.com

Kind Kitchen, a wholesale and special order bakery shop, is opening a main building in Pea Ridge. The owners, Jennifer and Tommy Rollins, along with his father, Bob Rollins, opened a mobile food trailer, called the Kind Kitchen, two years ago. They started in Fayetteville and moved to a location in Bentonville, just off the square.

Bob Rollins owns the building on North Curtis Avenue across from the old Blackhawk Theatre. After working in the trailer at the Bentonville Farmer’s Market, the three said they saw a need for a speciality bakery.

The Rollins are opening the kitchen in hopes of supplying restaurants and taking speciality orders. They sell vegan baked goods which helps clients who have peanut, gluten and dairy allergies. They don’t just sell baked goods, but also fresh-squeezed juices, and other food products.

Jennifer has worked in health foods and owned a restaurant in Hot Springs. She loves having the mobile food trailer because they can move to different places. Her husband, Tommy Rollins, worked for car dealerships until committing full-time to the Kind Kitchen. They have one part-time employee, Jon Carpenter, who, they hope, will become a full-time employee as the business grows.

With the new building, the Rollins will be able to bake yearround without having to worry about the weather. Their mobile food trailer will still be used to attend events such as Bentonville’s First Friday and Fayetteville’s First Thursday.

The Rollins said they hope to have to the new building ready to open in December. They also have a Twitter account, Facebook page and Instagram called Kind Kitchen which people can use to get updates on the new things happening with the bakery.

Their website is being designed and will be called mykindkitchen.com. To order products or for information, call 787-8560.
