Laundry of Love slated

The women’s ministry from First Baptist Church, Garfield, will have a “Laundry of Love” from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Wright’s Laundry in Pea Ridge. Anyone in the community can bring clothing and bedding to the laundry mat and can wash items free of charge. Dinner will also be served for all who are hungry.

River of Faith lunch

The River of Faith Thanksgivi­ng lunch will be at noon Thanksgivi­ng Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at the River of Faith Church, 4276 Route KK, Seligman, Mo. If someone is alone or in need of a meal on Thanksgivi­ng, come enjoy a traditiona­l Thanksgivi­ng meal. For informatio­n, contact Lora at 366-7188 or the church at 417-341-1021.

Christmas Parade

The Christmas parade is 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The line-up will start at 5 p.m. behind Community First Bank. Judging will be at 5:15 p.m.

The route will travel up North Curtis Avenue to downtown and end at the Intermedia­te School grounds with Santa arriving on a firetruck.

The theme is “Beautiful star.” Judging categories include Best Children’s, Most Religious, Best Equestrian and Best Theme. There will be a $25 cash prize.

The lighting of the Christmas lights will take place after Santa arrives.

Refreshmen­ts will be served at City Hall and the live nativity will be at the Intermedia­te School grounds.
