First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge

Inter-generation­al Quilt Show will be from 9 a.m. — 4 p.m., Saturday, May 10, at the church. This event is free and open to the public. If you have a quilt you would like to show, contact Amy McInturff, 451-1937. Quilts must be at the church by noon on May 9 and picked up after the show by 4:30 p.m. May 10.

Mother’s Day out enrollment for Fall 2014 is now open. Please call the church, 451-8192.

TeamKID and youth activities are from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays. TeamKID for children 4 years old through sixth grade. Youth is for seventh-12th grade.

Free Will Baptist Church, Pea Ridge

There will be a benefit yard sale from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Friday, May 2, through Saturday, May 3. All proceeds will go to the mission fund for Mike Hutsell, who will be going to Kenya.

The Ladies Titus II Bible study will meet at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10. Sarah Jackson will give the devotion.

Ana Capito and Emily Duncan will give the devotion at Youth Night on at 6 p.m., Sunday, May 18. There will be a guest preacher.

Bella Vista Christian Church

The Vintage Gospel Lads will present their farewell concert at the church at 7 p.m. Friday, May 9. No charge for the concert, but a love offering will be taken. The community is invited.

The annual Blackhawk Athletic Banquet included awards given to Jackie Ford, football and track; Randy Easterling, football, basketball and track; Danny Hickman, football; Curtis Snow, football; Gary Brown, football and track; Jordan Miser, football; Jon Brown, basketball; and Dave Thomas, basketball, track and cross country.

The junior high track members who won at the district track meet were Danny Smith, Steve Keller and Mark Combs, under the direction of coach Ron Bovay.

Seventy-five Garfield parents and citizens gathered at the Garfield School to discuss the future of the school with the Rogers School District. The parents were concerned that if the school closed their students would have to ride a bus into Rogers for at least 28 miles.

Shirley Patton, leader of Pea Ridge 4-H, and Joyce Barnett, leader of Garfield 4-H, attended the 4-H volunteer leaders’ annual spring retreat in Little Rock. The leaders learned how to teach photograph­y, gardening and vision education.
