Vivian ‘Margurite’ Dryden

Vivian “Margurite” Dryden, 96, of Gravette died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in Siloam Springs. She was born in Hiwasse on May 23, 1918, to Dick and Stella Robb Todd.

For many years she worked in the dietary department of Gravette Hospital from where she retired. She enjoyed working in her garden, was passionate about her yard. She was a longtime member of the Donivan Full Gospel Church, near Hiwasse.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Dryden; a granddaugh­ter, Kimberley Spoonmore; and two grandsons, Randy Crowley and Sean Dryden.

Survivors include three daughters, Lura Miller of Kansas, Helen (John) Quayle and Sue Moore of Gravette; two sons, Clyde Varner of Kansas and John Dryden of Texas; three sisters, Audra Evans of Gravette, Raydell Burdick of California and Valaree Thornhill of Garfield; a brother, Eugene Todd of Oregon; 10 grandchild­ren; 25 great-grandchild­ren; three great-great-grandchild­ren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was 10 a.m. - noon Friday, June 20.

Funeral services were at noon Friday, June 20.

Interment was in Dow Cemetery, west of Gravette.

Arrangemen­ts were under the care of CallisonLo­ugh Funeral Home in Bentonvill­e.

Frances R. Sanders

Frances R. Sanders, 96, of Fort Smith, Ark., formerly of Rogers, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Mercy Hospital of Fort Smith. She was born April 2, 1918, at Mulberry, Ark., to Thomas Faye Rankin and Nellie Jane Carty Rankin.

She began her profession­al career at Fort Chaffee Army Base in Fort Smith and later married Robert Elliott Sanders on the base, July 3, 1943. She retired from the Corps of Engineer Beaver Lake Reservoir after 20 years where she worked as a secretary. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Elliott Sanders on July 27, 2001; one brother, Hulburt “Bud” Rankin; and one sister, Hilda Buck.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Jane Sanders Evans and husband Bobby of Rogers and Sandy Sanders of Fort Smith; three grandchild­ren, Angela Carter and husband Thomas of Springdale, Kim McCasland and Dr. Randy Scott of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Robbie Evans of Bentonvill­e; and four great-grandchild­ren, Peyton, Cassidy, and Jessica Squires all of Springdale, and Kaitlin Dornan of Bentonvill­e.

Visitation was at 12 p.m. Friday before the service.

Service was set for 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with the Rev. John Gipson officiatin­g.

Burial followed at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
