Wildlife Rehabilitation
Wildlife rehabilitator Lynn Sciumbato will present a program on her work at the Morning Star Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at 1 p.m. Monday, July 7, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson Ave., in Springdale.
Sciumbato’s talk will include a visit with several native birds and mammals currently residing at the rehabilitation center.
Kids Fishing Derby
The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will host a free fishing derby for kids from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Murphy Park in Springdale. Kids of all ages are invited to bring a fishing pole and bait. Some 200 channel catfish will be stocked in Murphy Park Pond by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Registration begins at 3:15 p.m. at the park pavilion. Participants 16 and over must have a valid Arkansas fishing license. All who register will be eligible for prizes.
Murphy Park Pond is located next to the Springdale Public Library at 405 S. Pleasant Street.
37th Ozark Quilt Fair
Entries are now being accepted for the 37th Ozark Quilt Fair scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Quilters and quilt lovers are invited to display new and antique quilts for show and sale on the museum grounds. The entry fee is $10 per exhibitor.
The entry deadline is Sept. 10.

Cemetery Preservation
Holly Hope, special projects historian with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, will present, “Bringing it Back: Basic Cemetery Maintenance” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Hope will discuss cleaning and documenting gravestones, as well as safety, repair and straightening techniques, materials and tools, and landscaping issues.
The program is co-sponsored by the Washington County and Benton County Cemetery Preservation Groups.
