Dewey Lee Acuff

Dewey Lee Acuff, 71, of Springdale died on Aug. 10, 2014, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born Dec. 5, 1942, in Berryville, Ark., to John F. and Edna Harvison Acuff.

Mr. Acuff was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Dorthy Acuff of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug Acuff and Sheri of Fayettevil­le; two daughters and sonsin-law, LaDonna Stevens and Jimmy of Springdale and Wanda Waggoner and Tommy of Garfield; two brothers, Howard Acuff and Beverly of Hindsville and Millard Acuff and Lavella of Springdale; one sister, Ruth Kilpatrick and Virgil of Lowell; and four grandchild­ren, Forrest, Callie, Mattie and Becca.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Springdale, with the Rev. Charlie Foster officiatin­g.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral Home. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.

Pallbearer­s will be Tommy Waggoner, Jimmy Stevens, Jeremy Claypool, Ronnie Kilpatrick, Forrest Acuff and Howard Acuff.

Albert Lee Johnson

Albert Lee Johnson, 85, of Rogers died Sunday, Aug. 10, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayettevil­le. He was born March 14, 1929, to Charles L. Johnson and Hazel Donagney Johnson in Mundale, Ark.

He was a self-employed mechanic and worked at Hussey’s Garage in Eureka Springs. He was a member of Bible Holiness Church in Avoca.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eva May Johnson; and a brother Charles Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Lee Baker Johnson of the home; a son, Terry Johnson and wife Debbie of Rogers; four daughters, Sharon Morrow of Rogers, Nancy Pride and husband Sidney of Rogers, Linda Casey and husband Frank of Centerton and Janet Pippins and husband Dale of Seligman, Mo; six brothers, Ray Johnson of Scottsdale, Kan., Bill John- son (Dora) of Kansas City, Mo., Jr. Johnson (Kathy) of Kansas City Mo., Fred Johnson (Lavonne) of Jane, Mo., Bob Johnson (Joan) of Ft. Smith and Gary Johnson (Arlene) of Lowell; a sister, Betty Cordell of Bella Vista; 14 grandchild­ren; 21 greatgrand­children; and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the church.

Service is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at House of Prayer Church in Rogers.

Arrangemen­ts are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Gaila Marie McGinnis

Gaila Marie McGinnis, 66, of Garfield, died Saturday, Aug. 9, at her home. She was born Aug. 7, 1948, at Rensselaer, Ind., to Robert Ramey and Mildred Maxine Fine Ramey.

She enjoyed going to flea markets, gardening and her animals.

She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter, Merry Noel McGinnis.

Survivors include her husband, James McGinnis of the home; one daughter, Diana Spurlock and husband Scot of Bentonvill­e; one son, Jason McGinnis and wife Dacey of Raleigh, N.C.; her mother, Maxine Ramey of Rogers; one sister, Vicky Bartholome­w and husband Charlie of Rogers; and three grandchild­ren, Sam Norman, Landon Norman and Zephi McGinnis.

Visitation is set for 11 a.m. - noon Friday, Aug. 15, at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.

Funeral services are set for noon Friday, Aug. 15, in First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge.

Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Johanna Mellor

Johanna Phyllis Cornelia Mellor, 88, of Garfield died Aug. 6, 2014, at Legacy Village Hospice in Bentonvill­e. She was born June 11, 1926, in Easton, Penn., to Stephen John Zoldak and Cornelia Wester.

She moved from Penn- sylvania to the area in 1974 to make her home. She was a gardener, master seamstress, a caretaker and did foster care for infants. She made orange rolls for Crumpet Tea Room in Rogers for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband “Doug” Howard Mellor Jr.

Survivors include two sons, John Mellor and wife Jeannie of Springdale and Howard Mellor and wife Sabrina of Chattanoog­a, Ga.; a brother, Steven Zoldak of Panama; a sister, Susan Davisson and husband Steven of Garfield; three grandchild­ren; and three great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. before the service.

Service is set for 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11 at Brightwate­r United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Timmons officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Fayettevil­le National Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Paul Dean Smith

Paul Dean Smith, 79, of Pea Ridge died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Plainview, Ark., to Joe D. Smith and Alene Faye Smith.

He worked for the Sunbeam Baking Corporatio­n and Barnett Range Corporatio­n. He moved to the area four years ago from Flippin, Ark., to make his home. He loved to trout fish and was an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Allen Smith; two brothers, Darrell and Dennis Smith; and a sister Evelyn Nickleson.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Jean Linum Smith of the home; a son, Steven Smith of Stockton, Calif.; a daughter, Pamela Benton and husband, Randy of Bella Vista; three brothers, Harold Smith of Prairie Grove and Johnny and Wayne Smith of Stockton, Calif.; three grandchild­ren; and one greatgrand­child.

Cremation arrangemen­ts are with Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. No services are planned at this time.
