Cradduck, Guyll presented with Patriot Award

BENTONVILLE — Deputy Jack Daugherty served three military tours in Afghanistan, and he is grateful for the support he received from the Benton County Sheriff ’s Office while he was there.

Daugherty, who serves in the Air National Guard, wanted to show his appreciation, so he nominated Sheriff Kelley Cradduck and Jeremy Guyll, jail captain, for the Patriot Award. The award is given by the Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

“They have always supported me,” Daugherty said. “It was my way of showing my appreciation to them.”

Cradduck and Guyll were presented with the award Wednesday, Aug. 6.

“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees who, like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Kyle Fisher, Arkansas ESGR chairman. “Sheriff Cradduck and Capt. Guyll were nominated for being highly supportive of the National Guard and Reserve Services. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”

The Sheriff ’s Office has six jailers who are in the National Guard or Reserve, Guyll said.

Cradduck said he was honored to receive the award.

“We not only respect their service, but recognize and honor it as well,” Cradduck said. “It’s a privilege to have them on board at the Sheriff ’s Office.”
