Shots for vets

The Veterans Administra­tion will give flu shots to all local veterans from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the basement of Mt. Vernon Presbyteri­an Church.

Civil War history program

SPRINGDALE — “Specters of the Prairie Grove Battlefiel­d” is the topic at the Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Old Store annex of the Shiloh Museum of Ozarks History, 118 W. Johnson St., Springdale. The program will be presented by Janice Neighbors. The program is free and open to anyone with an interest in Civil War history. For informatio­n call: (479) 936-4663.

Meeting slated

LOST BRIDGE — The Glade Community Historical Society’s fourthquar­ter meeting for 2014 is 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. The program features Ms. Susan Young of the Shiloh Museum presenting her topic: “Meat, Meal and Molasses: A Look at Traditiona­l Ozark Food Ways.” The meeting is at the Lost Bridge Village Community Hall, 12477 Lodge Dr., Garfield. The event will also feature a soup supper, allyou-can-eat, for $7.

Ham and bean dinner slated

The Pea Ridge Alumni Ham & Bean dinner will be at 5 p.m. with a pie auction starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Pea Ridge Middle School. Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-12 and free for children under 4 years of age.

Spaghetti fundraiser set

GARFIELD — The NEBCO Fire/EMS Spaghetti Feed fundraiser is set for 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, in the NEBCO Community Center, U.S. Hwy. 62 and S. Wimpy Jones Road in Garfield. Allyou-can-eat spaghetti, with salad, bread and beverage, is $7 for adults, $4 for children 5-12, free for children under 5.
