catfish they could find. He loved having friends and family over to their house for fish fries. After delivering propane for most of his life, he worked at Union Carbide where he retired. After the death of Marie, he married his third-grade sweetheart, Beulah Parker, in 1998. They were active in local community affairs, including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pea Ridge Historical Society, 55 and Over Club and were members of the Mt. Vernon Presbyteri­an Church.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening and had a passion for gathering walnuts every autumn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Marie Bland Prophet; four brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah of the home; a son, Ronnie Prophet and wife Jennifer of Rogers; two granddaugh­ters, four great-grandchild­ren; Beulah’s daughters, Mary Durand and husband Henry of Pea Ridge and Kathy Kelly and husband Terry of Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandsons, Will Rogers of Centerton, T.J. Rogers and wife Stephanie of Bentonvill­e and Sean Kelly of Columbia, Mo.

Graveside service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at Bland Cemetery in Bentonvill­e with Pastor John Gibson officiatin­g.

Arrangemen­ts are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Presbyteri­an Church or Pea Ridge Historical Society in care of the funeral home.
