She’s known what she wants to do with her life for a long time.

Now, Hannah Blowers has an opportunity to follow her dream.

Blowers, 16, is a sophomore at Pea Ridge High School. She has been selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Law & CSI in Washington, D.C., this summer.

During the six-day hands-on experience, Blowers will have the opportunity to learn about law and forensic science careers from professionals.

“She’s a hard worker. She’s smart. She has a pleasant personality,” Mike Harrod, teacher at Pea Ridge High School, said. “She’s strong and very conscientious.”

Blowers, the daughter of Frank and Angel Blowers of Pea Ridge and Tera Blowers of Bella Vista, is also the granddaughter of Dennis and Shelly Payne of Little Flock.

“I’m very interested in law enforcement. I want to go into forensic science. I’ve wanted to go into forensic science for a very long time,” Blowers said, adding that she and her maternal grandmother watch crime shows together.

“I want to be the one that’s solving the crimes, helping figure it out. I really like crime scene investigating,” she said. Blowers said she has done a lot of internet research about the field.

She said that during the trip, she will participate in site discov- eries in the nation’s capital and in legal and forensic science career experiences.

“This will allow me to take an active part in the world of law and forensic science. I will have the opportunity to interact and network with some of our nation’s preeminent jurists, lawmakers, and legal scholars,” she said.

Blowers is working to raise money to fund the trip. She said she needs about $2,000. She

said: “I am willing to do any chore to raise money. Babysitting, dog walking, cleaning, or anything else. There’s not a set rate, people may donate what they feel I deserve or what they can afford.”

Blowers is a member of the National Honor Society, the Book Club and the Community Service Club at PRHS. She attends First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge.

She said she has also set up a Go Fund Me account.
