Monday, March 9

1:35 p.m. Police were notified of a suspicious circumstan­ce involve a maroon sports utility vehicle with “suspicious” salesmen approachin­g various residences. The persons were told they had to have a city permit to sell inside the city limits. The two persons in the vehicle claimed to work for “AK Cleaning Solutions” and both had criminal histories, according to the police report.

3:25 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on a residence on Weston Street for a report of an intruder inside a residence; no intruder was found. Police spoke to relatives of the resident due to the numerous calls for assistance at the house for unfounded complaints.

3:50 p.m. A resident of Rains Street reported an item stolen from her mailbox on March 5.

4:05 p.m. A resident of Rains Street reported identity fraud.

6:28 p.m. A resident of Kay Lynn Drive reported a credit card missing and fraudulent charges on the bill; as a result of the investigat­ion, the suspect was found and confessed but the victim declined to press charges.

Tuesday, March 10

3:11 p.m. A resident of Drew Lane reported a disturbanc­e; the situation was determined to be civil, not criminal.

3:35 p.m. A resident of Drew Lane reported a disturbanc­e; the situation was determined to be civil, not criminal.

6:36 p.m. Police were requested for a welfare check on a female juvenile purportedl­y threatenin­g suicide via social media; the threat was determined to be unfounded.

Thursday, March 12

5:20 p.m. Police were dispatched to a business on North Curtis Avenue for a report of criminal mischief involve several youths “knocking over trash cans.” As a result of the investigat­ion, police interviewe­d four juvenile females and one juvenile male. As a result of the investigat­ion, the girls, ages 16, 13, 13 and 12, were given verbal warnings to not be in the business without an adult and were released to their parents; the 16-year-old male was given a no trespass warning.

Friday, March 13

5:49 p.m. Police assisted a state parole officer at a residence on McCulloch Street and told the person living in a trailer not to have any contact with the resident of the home and move the trailer as soon as possible.

1:20 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on O.D. Bancroft for a dog in need of care. There were at least three other recent reports of similar situation. The dog was found tethered to a tree without food or water, a wet mat and in an area covered with dog waste. Because of the situation, the dog was removed for its own welfare. As a result of the investigat­ion, Ashley Northern, Pea Ridge, was cited for cruelty to animals.

5:12 p.m. A resident of South Davis Street reported identity fraud. As a result of the investigat­ion, it was determined that possibly a company, Straight Talk, had made mistakes in managing two persons’ accounts.

8:01 p.m. Police took a report of a motor-vehicle accident on East Pickens Road involving vehicles driven by Johnathon Small, 18, Pea Ridge, and Kenneth Hayes, 55, Pea Ridge. According to the report, Hayes was eastbound when several deer ran out in front of him and that because of the wet pavement, he ended up in the westbound lane. Small said he was westbound coming around a curve and down a hill when he encountere­d the vehicle driven by Hayes, which he attempted to miss, but hit.

Saturday, March 14

1:33 p.m. Police met a city resident at the Pea Ridge Vet Clinic to impound a dog the resident claimed had been found in the Givens subdivisio­n. The black and white male terrier was impounded.

4 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Hayden Road to pick up an abandoned dog, a brown female Chihuahua. It was reportedly left in the yard of the residence with a small dog carrier nearby.

Sunday, March 15

4:44 p.m. Police were dispatched to the Pea Ridge Subway for a report of juveniles breaking glass by the dumpster. The two youths, both 8-year-old boys, were interviewe­d. They admitted breaking the glass, apologized to the store employee and were released to their parents.

6:55 p.m. Police were dispatched to a residence on Spruce Street for a report of children riding a mini bike without a helmet. As a result of the investigat­ion, the youths were found and their parent advised of the city ordinance.
