Miss Pea Ridge Miste Scarpinatt­o was crowned Miss Pea Ridge at the 46th annual Pea Ridge Community Fair. She is the daughter of Tony and Debbie Scarpinatt­o of Pea Ridge. First runner up was Heather Staggs and second runner up and Miss Congeniali­ty was Shawna Adkins. Brittany Higgins was crowned Miss Tiny Tot and is the daughter of Kurt and Terri Higgins. Josh Bangs was crowned Mr. Tiny Tot and is the son of Joe and Tina Bangs.

Members of the Pea Ridge School Board voted to pur- chase the Accuscan Meal Tracking System for the cafeteria for $5,129.75. Some of the advantages of the system appear to be shortening the time teachers must spend on lunch count each day and the ability to keep an accurate account on the amount of money each student has paid and spent in a simpler and less time-consuming way.

Even though he used to be a basketball coach, new Pea Ridge High School principal Rick Neal says his priority in his new position is academics. The Neals will be living in Pea Ridge and their youngest son, Cody, 16, will be a junior at Pea Ridge High School. His wife, Sheila, will be working as assistant girls basketball coach at Springdale Junior High Central.

Ashley Owens was crowned 2005 Miss Pea Ridge. Faith Stowe was crowned Miss Tiny Tot and Blake Willis Mr. Tiny Tot.

Cecil Troy Jr. drove his buggy in the Pea Ridge Fair Parade and won the Best Western prize. The Kooky Rosebuds clowns were declared Most Humorous. The VFW and VFW Auxiliary received the Beta Alpha Sorority award for the Best Decorated float. The co-operative Vacation Bible School at Mt. Vernon Presbyteri­an and Pea Ridge and Brightwate­r United Methodist churches won the prize for Best Costumed group or individual with their safari theme.
