Jackie Wayne Cox, 73, of Springdale, died Sept. 19, 2015, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1942, in Manila, Ark., to Jack N. and Virginia (Miley) Cox.

Cox was a man who loved horses, fishing and hunting and was a cowboy at heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor and had the ability to make his family laugh and see the funny side of life. He was a man’s man but at the same time could be tender and caring about the people he loved and those who loved him. His physical presence will be greatly missed, but he will live on in his family and loved ones’ heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donnie Cox; and two daughters, Sharon Cox and Tina King.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Cox, of the home; sons, Sam Cox of Kingston, Ralph Cox of Pea Ridge, Johnny Williams of Rogers and Gary Williams and Jerry Groom, both of Springdale; daughters, Patricia Gunderson and Betty Porcher both of Roswell, N.M., and Connie Williams of Springdale; a sister, Sara Smith of Huntsville; 21 grandchild­ren; and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Friendship Cemetery with Pastor Lester Harp officiatin­g.
