Sally Ann Huffman

Sally Ann Huffman, 55, of Washburn, Mo., died Nov. 22, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. She was born Dec. 31, 1959, in Bentonvill­e to Edward and Alice Gundel.

While Sally trained in and became a dental assistant, her life’s passion was her family and painting. Sally was an outstandin­g artist in both decorative scenery and wildlife painting as well as murals and faux painting. Camping, volunteeri­ng and crafting with her granddaugh­ters were her favorite pastimes. Her love of God, family and friends was obvious in all she touched. A loving mother and steadfast friend, her generosity, kindness and compassion were felt by all who knew her. Her smile will be missed and remembered fondly.

Survivors include one son, Joshua Alan Huffman and wife Renee of Washburn, Mo.; one daughter, Jessie Jo Custer and her husband Michael of Glennrock, Wyo.; two granddaugh­ters, Isabell Huffman and Sky Ann Custer; siblings, Rose Miles Vermeulen and Carlene Owensby, both of Washburn, Mo., Deloris Jobe of Pea Ridge, Ark., Mona Gundel of Seligman, Mo., Charlene Pickering of Jacket, Mo., Edward Gundel Jr., Larry Gundel, David Gundel, Donald Gundel, Vickie Resz and Dennis Gundel, all of White Oak Hollow, Mo., and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Antioch Cemetery, under the direction of Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge and presided over by Pastor Bonnie Austin of the Ridge church in Pea Ridge. There was no visitation. Online condolence­s may be made at siscofuner­al- home.net.

Jimmie Marie Phillips Russell

Jimmie Marie Phillips Russell, 81, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, in Bentonvill­e. She was born near Bentonvill­e on Dec. 7, 1933, to James and Dollie Marie Phillips.

She attended Bentonvill­e schools through all grades, graduating in 1952. She took courses at Tulsa Commercial Art, Shorthand and Typing. She was a bookkeeper for 12 years at Harris Baking Co. in Rogers. She retired from Walmart after 16 years, as an invoice clerk and in ladies wear. She was a member of Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church where she had served as treasurer, lay leader, membership secretary and historian.

In 1964, she married Al Russell. They were married almost 50 years at the time of his death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al; brothers, Robert Phillips, Charles Phillips; and nephews, Jim Shepperd, Dwane Phillips, and Robert “Bobby” Phillips.

Survivors include nieces, Charlotte Caldwell and husband Curtis of Oklahoma City, Okla., Audra Williams of Rogers, Ark., Mary Ellen Drymon of Anderson, Mo.; nephews, Steve Sheppard of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Bill Sheppard of Washburn, Mo.; many great-nieces, -nephews and cousins, as well as special ones in her life, Bob and Thelma Skaggs, Alice Bonds, and Carol Greear.

Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church.
