Ronald Bern Simrell
Ronald Bern Simrell, 79, of Garfield died Jan. 4 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., to Aaron Simrell and Adela Broderick Simrell.
He was employed by National Homes among other major construction companies and his crew built their 150,000th home during his employment. He was a building inspector for the town of Frankfort, Ill. He retired from Will County Carpenters Union, Local 174, in Illinois. His talent as a construction engineer can be seen in all of the buildings and the Grand Lodge at Ventris Trails End Resort and Restaurant.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons, Dane Simrell and Donnie Proper; and one brother, Maurice Simrell.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Janet Simrell of the home; four sons, Ronald Simrell (Kathy) of Bella Vista, Larry Simrell (Colleen) of Rogers, Kurt Simrell of Garfield and Jody Simrell of Garfield; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the funeral home.
Service was at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with pastor Brian Timmons officiating.
Burial was in Buttram Chapel Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
