Charles M. Bass
Charles M. Bass, 78, of Exeter, Mo., died Feb. 28, 2016, at his home in Exeter. He was born July 6, 1937, to Chester and Effie (Sanders) Bass in Doniphan, Mo.
He served in the United States Marine Corp for 21 years; fighting in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War rising in rank to 2nd Lieutenant. Mr. Bass enjoyed fishing, riding horses and going to yard sales.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife in 2006, and his grandson, Joseph.
Survivors include his wife Juanita (Stephens) Bass, of Exeter; three sons Charlie Bass and his wife Starla, of Westville, Okla., Curtis Bass, of Palm Springs, Calif., and Chris Bass and his wife Shelly, of Gentry, Ark.; two daughters, Kathy Neil and her husband Steve, of Highfill, Ark., and Melenie Mitchell and her husband Scott, of Chewy, Okla.; one stepson, Bill Banks and his wife Jeannie, of Washburn, Mo.; two step-daughters, Trish Farmer and her fiancé Anthony Bruno, of Lowell, Ark., and Vera Bise and her husband James, of Bentonville, Ark.; two sisters, Rosalie Ivey and Louise Hughes, both of Joplin, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
A private family burial will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, in Proctor, Okla.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Mo.
Clay Leroy Harvey
Clay Leroy Harvey, 70, of Garfield, died Feb. 19, 2016, at Highlands rehab center in Rogers. He was born April 9, 1945, in Prairie Grove to Harrison and Hattie Christine Harvey.
He grew up in Winslow and Rogers. He was a kind, loving man and never passed up an opportunity to give people a hard time and make them laugh. He will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Belinda Lou Jarrett and Doris Gayle Landis.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene; two siblings, Harrison ‘Guy’ Harvey of Pharoah, Okla., and Marsha Ward and husband Oliver of Rogers; four children, Stephanie, Tiffany, Stephen and Paula; and several grandchildren.
Mavis Josephine Lynch
Mavis Josephine Lynch, 86, of Best, Ark., died Feb. 21, 2016, at Walnut Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Springdale, Ark. She was born May 31, 1929, at Rambo, Ark., to David Lee “Dave” and Dovie Pearl Evans Oxford.
She was a dairy farmer for over 40 years and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with family, friends and her cows, dog and cat.
She was the widow of William Henry “Billy H.” Lynch whom she married on June 29, 1946, and who preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ronal Obenshain of Hindsville, Ark.; one sister, Ruth Frank and husband Arvin of Seligman, Mo.; one brother-in-law, John Fields of West Fork, Ark.; one sister-in-law, Rozaine Oxford of West Fork, Ark.; three grandchildren, Kevin Obenshain and wife Ashley of Best, Ark., and Keith Obenshain and Regina Obenshain, both of Hindsville, Ark.; three great-grandchildren, Parker Obenshain and Preston Obenshain, both of Harrison, Ark., and Tyler Obenshain of Best, Ark.; and several nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brashears Funeral Home.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Reverend Loren Collins officiating.
Interment was in the Rambo Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www. brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Ark.
Pallbearers were Kevin Obenshain, Keith Obenshain, Regina Obenshain, Rusty Goss, Sonny Smyth and Ralphie Schrader. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Tom Whiting, Miles Anderson, Ashley Obenshain and Tyler Obenshain.
Patricia ‘ Trish’ Kay Mangold
Patricia “Trish” Kay Mangold, 55, of Bentonville, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville. She was born June 17, 1960, in Detroit, Mich., to Velma Kaye Love and Harold Chandler.
She was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church of Rogers. She was a CPA for the Whitaker Foundation and formerly with Allard and Company. She enjoyed playing golf and loved traveling.
She had lived in the northwest Arkansas area for more than 30 years after moving from Texas. She was a graduate of Gravette High School.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Velma Kaye Smith, of Centerton; one son, Adam James Mangold of Rogers; two daughters, Brandy Rollins and husband Don of West Fork and Crystal Coursey and fiancé Adam Elington of Rogers; two brothers, Thomas Chandler of Avoca and Johnny Chandler and wife Brenda of Garfield; one sister, Sheryl Smith and husband John of Centerton; and four grandchildren, Abigail, Brilee, Grace and Jillian.
Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Assembly of God Church of Rogers.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in New Hope Assembly of God Church with Pastor James Longmate officiating.
Interment was in Bentonville Cemetery.

James ‘Mac’ McTier
James “Mac” McTier, 50, of Bentonville, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born Aug. 14, 1965, at Wrens, Ga., to Kimmell Paul McTier and Agnes Louise Inglett McTier.
He was a long-haul truck driver for Frontier Leasing in Joplin, Mo. He enjoyed working on cars, being outdoors and spending time with his daughters.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors are his mother, Agnes McTier of Wrens, Ga.; two daughters, Mackenzie McTier and Morgan McTier, and their mother, Tammy Sutherland, all of Pea Ridge; one brother, David McTier (Lucy); one sister, Ruth Ann Clark (Jerry) all of Wrens, Ga.; and four nephews, Jace and Ty McTier, and Cameron and Will Clark.
Special thanks to close friends Larry and Michael Bryson, Robert Waclawski, Gordan Reynolds, and Gilbert and Patty of Frontier Leasing.
Cremation was by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 4, at Sisco Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at New Prospect Baptist Church in Garfield with burial at Bayless Cemetery.

Joe Leroy Scates
Joe Leroy Scates, 53, of Pea Ridge, died Feb. 24, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born July 12, 1962, in Springdale to L. Roy Scates and Patricia Jo Babcock.
He worked at Zero Mountain in Lowell for five years and the Salvation Army Store in Springdale. He helped with the local First Baptist Church food pantry with his mother Pat and loved fishing and camping.
Survivors are his mother, Pat Worley of the home; and three children, Ramon Muro of Bella Vista, Kristopher Sinclair of Avoca and Anthony Sinclair of Garfield.
Per his wishes, no services are planned.
Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
Burial will be in Ruddick Cemetery.
Kongsy Sivixay
Kongsy Sivixay, 83, of Springdale, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, in Washburn, Mo. She was born June 8, 1932, in Gnommalath, Khammouane, Laos. She was a homemaker. Survivors include four children, Inthavong Sivixay of Kansas City, Kan., Pathinh Sivixay of Fresno, Calif., Thavinh Inthasone of Fresno and Intong Sivixay of Washburn, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
