THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

-

There were two sisters who were also best friends that lived in the woods. Grace was 10 years old and twins with Sky. She was nice, smart, and had long brown hair that covered her backside. Her eyes were the color of waterfalls. She liked big fluffy coats, furry boots, and warm mittens. She also liked to play softball.

Sky obviously was 10 years old with blonde hair and turquoise blue eyes. She was the twin with grace and sophistication, especially when she danced. She liked tall boots, colorful shirts, and sweatpants.

It was Christmas Eve, and the girls had just arrived home from the mall where they had finished buying gifts for the family. They were so tired that they were about to fall over. So their parents told them to go take a nap. Sky went to her room to sleep, but Grace did not.

Grace said ¨I am so hungry my stomach is aching, and there is nothing to eat in this house except apples! It’s Christmas Eve, and all there is to eat is a bunch of apples! What is wrong with these people!!”

So Grace walked into her sister’s bedroom and whispered, “Wake up! You need to wake up and go to the store with me.”

Sky said, “If we go, you know how much trouble we would be in. It is Christmas Eve, and I really don’t want to get in trouble! I will go under one condition: You have to buy me some Cheetos.

Grace said, “OK, you win. I will make sure to get you some Cheetos.”

So they were off. They climbed out the window so they wouldn’t get caught. They slid down the tree, and they ran to the store. When they got there, they bought a bag of Cheetos and two Dr. Peppers. Then they ran back home and tried to climb up the tree, but it did not work so well. So they just had to use the house key to open the front door. Although they were super quiet, their parents were waiting up in the kitchen and heard a noise. So Mom and Dad came out to investigate. The sisters run full speed up the stairs and to their room. They jump into bed and pretend to be asleep. Mom peeks in the door and sees the girls in bed, so she closes the door and goes to bed.

Sky whispers, “I can’t believe that we made it!”

Grace whispers back, “I know. That was a close one.”

The girls roll over and try to go to sleep when Sky sits up and says, “Hey Grace! I can’t find my wallet. We have to go back and find it.”

“No way! Go to sleep and worry about it later!” Grace replies. So they go to sleep.

When they wake up, there were Christmas presents everywhere. Their cousins came over, and everyone started opening his or her gifts. After all the gifts were opened, Grace found an envelope on a branch of the tree that had her name on it. There was also an envelope for Sky. Inside they found a letter that told them to go outside to the barn. When they opened the door, the sisters found two horses, one for each of them. Mom brought the camera and took a photo of the girls next to their new horses. They couldn’t wait to ride them, so Dad helped the girls put saddles on each horse, and the sisters went for a long ride over the fields. It was the best day of their lives.
