Many hands make the work light New director chosen

- PEGGY MADDOX Pea Ridge Librarian

It’s been another busy library week. There were lots of patron visits in addition to processing new books and getting the multi-purpose room ready for Open House. We are so looking forward to hearing what the community has to say about it.

Nathan See, Wes Henson and a crew of inmates from the Benton County Jail did some last minute work for us last week. We are very grateful to them for pulling weeds and adding new mulch around the front of the building. It looks very nice. Thank you to everyone who pitched in and helped. Cinda and Darrel Wooldridge worked very hard getting all the tables and chairs picked up, delivered and set up. They go above and beyond for the library and I am very appreciative.

Today is Ms. Jacki’s last day presiding over the Story/Craft Hour. She has accepted a job for the summer. One of our patrons will be taking over for her.

Ms. Jacki, we appreciate you, love you and will miss you. Please come back and visit when you can.

The Summer Reading Program for children kindergarten through fifthgrade began Monday, June 6. Several local businesses have donated items for the goody bags the children will receive at the party on July 16. All donations are appreciated.

A Library director has been hired to start immediately. An announcement will be made shortly and details will be in next week’s paper. I am happy to say that I am leaving the library in very capable hands. Stop by soon and welcome the new director. See you at the library.
