Pea Ridge Times

Book Clubs begin this week

- MEGAN BRYANT Pea Ridge Librarian

Hello Pea Ridge friends! I truly hope everyone had a fantastic and safe Fourth of July. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for some fun to start at the library this month.

Great news! We will extend the library hours. Monday through Friday we will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Story Hour with a craft, will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6. Bring a friend and join us.

The Still Life Art class for ages 5 to 10 will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7. There are only three spots left. Please come by the library to sign up.

The first High School book club meeting will be 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7. Mrs. Holly Dayberry will lead this first meeting. We will discuss what book to read first this summer.

All seventh- and eighthgraders will have their first book club meeting from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8.

The sixth-graders book club will meet 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, July 9.

I am glad we extended the Summer Reading program; the children have really been working hard and staying busy. Just a reminder, you have in till Aug. 1 to read as many books as possible before turning in book records.

We would like to welcome two new library aids this week, Alexandra Wright and Katherine Young. They are going to be wonderful additions to the staff. Thank you to all who got the word out and turned in applications.

We are in need of new and gently used children’s books to hand out at the Back to School Bash, please think of us when shopping or cleaning our your closets.

I would really like to start a Lego Club here at the library! If you have any Legos that your child has out grown please drop them by. I know this will be a lot of fun!
