Blackhawks host Lil’ Hawks Camp
Continuing a tradition within the Pea Ridge Blackhawk football community, head Blackhawk Coach Stephen Neal held the annual Lil’ Hawks football camp last week.
“One of the goals of the Pea Ridge football program is to develop and strengthen the relationships between the Pea Ridge Schools’ football program and the Pea Ridge Youth Football program,” Neal said. “One of the solutions to strengthen this relationship is the creation and continuation of the Hawk Football Camp and the Pride II Training Camp.”
With 72 participants in the camps, Neal said: “We feel we have been very successful in the beginning development of the relationships between the programs in terms of the introduction of Youth football players and coaches to the Blackhawk players and coaches, introduction of terminology and scheme, and the strengthening of community pride in the Blackhawk name.”
Coaches, youth coaches and varsity players worked together teaching individual position technique, offensive and defensive terminology and scheme and the “high behavioral and character expectations of Blackhawk Athletes in our community,” Neal said.
“We certainly hope our coaching was beneficial to the youth players and coaches and look forward to very successful seasons of the Pea Ridge Black- hawk football family,” Neal said.
