W. C. Burkett

W. C. Burkett, 70, of Clinton, Ill., died at 12:25 p.m. Dec. 24, 2016, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ill. He was born March 23, 1946, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., to Alvin and Edith (Smith) Burkett.

He married Doris “Rie” McKee Sept. 25, 1971, in Keokuk, Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1964-1972. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, hunting and Big Band music. He always had a corny sense of humor even up until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife, Rie Burkett of Clinton, Ill.; children, Wendy (Gordon) Woods and Lisa Burkett, both of Clinton, Ill., Jason (Fatima) Burkett, Bloomingto­n, Ill., and Bobbi (Sam) Perryman, Warrensbur­g, Ill; five grandchild­ren; brothers, Eugene and Tim Burkett, Gateway, Ark., and John, Garry and Steve Burkett, Pea Ridge, Ark., Bruce and David Burkett, Seligman, Mo., and Robert Burkett, Anderson, Mo.; and a sister, Onida Clubb, Rogers, Ark.

Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, in the Clinton Assembly of God Church.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, in the Clinton Assembly of God Church with Pastor Dan Bell officiatin­g.

Burial followed at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfiel­d, Ill., with military honors.

John Joseph Perkins

John Joseph Perkins, 96, of Rogers, Ark., died Dec. 28, 2016, at Walnut Grove Nursing and Rehab in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born March 19, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., to Arthur Elmer Perkins and Adeline Kozikoski Perkins.

He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Air Corp. He worked as a carpenter, truck driver and was chairman for Woodruff, Wisc., for two terms. He loved to hunt and fish and attended Grace Harbor Church and St. Vincent Catholic Church in Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Egtvedt Perkins in 2002 and his second wife, Ora Delle Stoneman Johnson Perkins in 2009; two brothers, Arthur Jr. and Terrance Perkins; and three sisters, Geraldine Below, Adeline Pogorzelsk­i and an infant.

Survivors are four daughters, Sharon Brunell (Dave) of Rogers, Linda Sadowski (Todd) of Delafield, Wisc., Kathy Burton (Dave) of Arbor Vitae, Wisc., and Joan Perkins of Milwaukee, Wisc.; a brother, Jim Perkins (Dodie) of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a sister, Joanne Belliveau of St. Germain, Wisc.; eight grandchild­ren; and 13 great-grandchild­ren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Woodruff, Wisc.

Arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge, Ark.

Sherman Price

Sherman Price, 81, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016, at the Ozark Community Hospital in Gravette. He was born May 11, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Annah Ragsdale Price and John Arch Price.

A lifelong salesman, developer, contractor, visionary and entreprene­ur, he began his career as a salesman in Texas, West Virginia and California. While in California, he became involved in real estate developing, becoming quite successful while earning multiple architectu­ral awards. He later returned to Oklahoma City where he designed and built residentia­l subdivisio­ns.

In the 1980s, he relocated to northwest Arkansas and became the owner and proprietor of USAX, a real estate developmen­t and rental business in Rogers. Upon his retirement in 2006, he moved to the Bella Vista community, continuing to live with his family. He worshiped at the Bentonvill­e Church of Christ until Alzheimer’s prevented his attendance.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ralph Wayne Price.

Survivors include his sister Annette Bishop and husband Stephen of the Oklahoma City area; John and Debbie McGee of the home; Chris and Lora Little of Bella Vista along with their children Ava, Collin, and Henry; and Wesley and Bailey McGee of Decatur and their children Josiah, Anna, Noah, Isaiah, Elijah, Silas, Lydia and Grace.

Friends and family are invited to a “Celebratio­n of Life” reception from 1:303:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Bentonvill­e Church of Christ lodge east of the worship center, at 816 NW 8th Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Arvest Bank to the Lora Little Medical Fund #27180204 in memory of Sherman Price. The family requests that donors write their name and address on the deposit slip for acknowledg­ement.

There will be a private burial.
