Man arrested

- STAFF REPORT

At approximately 10:20 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6, the Pea Ridge Police Department received information that a vehicle reported stolen in Springdale, Ark., was currently near the intersection of East Harris Street and South Curtis Avenue in Pea Ridge. It was later relayed to police that the vehicle (a blue 2007 Honda Fit) had some type of tracking device located on it which was track-able through the dealership.

Police Detective Brandon Davis was nearby and spotted a vehicle matching this description being driven on West Harris Street near South Curtis Avenue. Samuel Hendrickson, 27, of Rogers, was spotted operating and leaving the vehicle on foot. The subject was detained by Davis as Officer Mike Lira also arrived at the scene. It was determined the vehicle was the stolen vehicle and that the suspect had warrants for his arrest out of other police agencies. The suspect was questioned at the scene and admitted to being in possession of the vehicle since the date of its theft in Springdale. He also admitted to being in Pea Ridge at a nearby residence to use illicit drugs.

The Springdale Police Department and the owners of the vehicle were contacted and responded to the scene in Pea Ridge. Hendrickson was transported to the BCSO Jail for incarceration. The SPD Criminal Investigations Division requested the PRPD to work the case from this point. Davis processed and obtained further evidence inside and outside the recovered vehicle and subsequently completed probable cause arrest paperwork on Hendrickson for theft by receiving, felony, and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Capt. Chris Olson and Officer Lira went to the nearby residence where Hendrickson claimed to have been and made contact with Bradley Womack, 31, Rogers. Officers speaking to Womack ended up seizing approximately 6.9 grams of marijuana and also drug paraphernalia from him. Lira charged Womack with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The recovered vehicle was returned to the Springdale victims. Multiple items of latent fingerprint evidence were submitted to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine if other suspects are to be sought.
