EVENTS History of Bella Vista
Carole Harter, past president of the Bella Vista Historical Museum, will present a program entitled, “The Line bargers’ Bella Vista,” at noon Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Harter is the granddaughter of Clarence Linebarger, who was general manager and part owner of Bella Vista resort from 1917 to 1952.
Cider-making
The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will explore the pioneer craft of cider-making from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. The program is part of the museum’s Shiloh Saturday series for families.
Modern Times
The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will open Modern Times, a new permanent exhibit exploring the region’s recent history of 1950 to the present, Saturday, Oct. 9.
“The modern era in northwest Arkansas can be summed up in two words: ‘growth’ and ‘change.’ The exhibit takes a look at the
driving forces behind that growth and change: Beaver Lake, the rise of the poultry, retail, transportation, and tourism industries, and the University of Arkansas,” said Susan Young, museum outreach coordinator and curator of the exhibit.
MEETINGS AT THE MUSEUM Civil War Roundtable
The Northwest Arkansas Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
Wireless Society to Meet
The Ozark Wireless Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, in the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
