Library staff tours other libraries

- ALEX WRIGHT Pea Ridge Librarian

Greetings Library family: As most of you already know, last week the library was closed for two days in order for the librarians to receive training from the State Library. This training was very thorough, touching on more than a few important library laws that are in place for the safety of not only ourselves, but patrons. Along with this training, we also took the time to tour several of the surrounding libraries in order to ascertain procedures that can be improved upon and projects to aspire to.

Most of the libraries’ staff graciously took time out of their busy schedules to lend an ear to our questions and give insight to some of the problems we face. Though each of the locations was beautifully impressive, it was humbling to see how picturesque our little library is in comparison. What we lack in grandeur is most undeniably made up in customer service and a sense of home that we strive to provide to each and every one of our patrons.

With all of this knowledge in hand we are going to be making many changes to improve our daily functions and ensure that the Pea Ridge Community Library will become the community centerpiece that it so deserves to be!

As always, providing the classes and programs that our community needs is of the up most of importance to us, so we ask that you please email any ideas or teaching requests to the Library at: pearidgecommunitylibrary@gmail.com.
