Ruby Lea Easter

Ruby Lea Easter, 82, of Lowell, Ark., died on April 25, 2018. She was born Jan. 30, 1936, to Mildred and Raymond Allen and was the oldest of 14 children.

She married the love of her life, Virgle Easter, when she was only 14 years old. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage and spent their entire lives teaching generation after generation what God intended marriage to look like.

She was the crowning jewel of her family.

Mrs. Easter retired from Clorox. In her spare time, she could be found outside in her garden caring for her flowers and vegetables, sitting in a lawn chair watching birds, in her kitchen baking apple pies that her sons fought over or baking hot rolls that her grandchild­ren coveted. Her canned pickles served as the center piece for most family gath- erings. Ruby enjoyed trout fishing at Beaver Dam, camping, traveling across the country to bluegrass festivals, walking under the moonlight with her sweetheart, shopping with her daughters, cheering on the Razorbacks, and worshiping her Savior at Rogers First Assembly of God.

Ruby’s greatest accomplish­ment is the family she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky; and her great-greatgrand­daughter, Graceleigh.

Survivors are her husband, Virgle Easter; her five children, Larry (Ina) Easter of Pea Ridge, Carney (Reta) Easter of Lowell, Vicky (Tom) Harp of Fayettevil­le, Virlene (Lee) Bennett of Lowell and Darrell Easter of Lowell; 19 grandchild­ren; 29 great-grandchild­ren; and two great-great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation was 6–8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, in Westfield Chapel Funeral Home, Springdale, Ark.

Funeral service celebratin­g her life was at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, in Springdale First Assembly of God, Springdale, Ark.

Burial was in Spring Creek Cemetery, Springdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark., or Rogers First Assembly of God in Rogers, Ark.

Sidney Ben Gill

Sidney Ben Gill, 61, of Pea Ridge, died April 30 in Springdale. He was born Sept. 4, 1956, in St. Louis, Mo., to Sidney Willard Gill and Gwyndolene Deborah Holden Gill.

He married Penny Lee Price July 17, 1976, and worked in retail sales for Walmart Stores in Bentonvill­e. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, playing guitar, reading and going to flea markets.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, John Gill.

Survivors are his wife Penny Gill of the home; his mother, Gwyndolene Gill of Carrollton, Ill.; two sons, Jacob Gill of Pea Ridge and Christophe­r Gill of Bentonvill­e; a daughter, Misty Steffes and husband Jason of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchild­ren.

Cremation arrangemen­ts were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

A private memorial service will be held.

Rita Louise McCarty

Mrs. Rita Louise McCarty, 66, of Stella, Mo., died Monday, April 30, 2018, in her home. She was born March 27, 1952, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., to Marvin and Anna (Ridenoure) Skaggs.

She was raised an attended school in Spring- dale, Ark. On July 18, 1967, she was united in marriage to Dwaine Lavon McCarty and together the shared 50 years before his passing on Aug. 23, 2017. They resided in Cave Springs, Ark., for several years before moving to a farm in Stella, Mo., in 2005. She was a hardworkin­g and devoted homemaker and held the position of “supervisor” of their family farm. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her home and spending time with her family, especially her grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her father; her beloved husband, Dwaine McCarty; and one sister, Valerie Skaggs.

Survivors are her three sons, Kevin McCarty and wife, Steffanie, of Gentry, Ark., Cody McCarty of Stella, Mo., and Travis Skaggs and wife, Kristen, of Neosho, Mo.; seven grandchild­ren, Cory, Dakota, Logan, Dylan, Alyssa, Brayden and Emma Grace; her mother, Anna Mae Snodgrass of Hindsville, Ark.; two sisters, Kim Green of Hindsville and Cheryl Koester of Bartlesvil­le, Okla.; four brothers, Larry Ridenoure of Republic, Mo., Johnny Skaggs of Pea Ridge, Ark., Marvin Skaggs of Elm Springs, Ark., and Randy Skaggs of Brentwood, Ark.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozarks Funeral Home chapel.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, in funeral homes with pastor Bobby Main officiatin­g.

Burial was in the Union Cemetery near Stella, Mo.

Pallbearer­s were Kevin McCarty, Cody McCarty, Travis Skaggs, Randy Skaggs, Dakota McCarty, Cory McCarty and Logan Watts. Honorary pallbearer­s were Dylan McCarty and Brayden Watts.
