12th annual Freedom Fest Car Show winners awarded

The 12th annual Freedom Fest Car Show was Saturday, June 30, in Pea Ridge City Park.

The car show was sponsored by New Life Fellowship Church, Ridge Community Church, Assembly of God, Emerson Group, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Arvest Bank, Equity Bank and others. Proceeds benefit Bright Futures of Pea Ridge.

This year, there were 56 vehicles entered compared to 120 last year, according to organizer Carol Ash.

The Heartland Club of the Ozarks won the trophy for the best represented club.

Presented with the “People’s Choice” award was Howard Schuettpelz and his 1957 Chevy which he said he purchased new and left behind when he went to Vietnam.

Taking first place in the Motorcycle category was Steve Castoe, Pineville, Mo., with his 1986 HD Sporter.

John Bross was awarded first place for the 21 and under category.

Pete and Melinda Trimble won the award for Rat Rods with a Springdale 1955 International R110.
