FOP charity golf tournament is a success

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

The Pea Ridge Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 88 held its second annual Charity Golf Event at the Big Sugar Creek Golf Club in Pea Ridge recently.

The tournament had approximately 22 teams (88 golfers) and hosted six FOPs from across the state. Members from the nonprofit group Got Your Six Project (GY6IX) volunteered to help assist the Pea Ridge FOP with manpower in running the tournament (i.e. registration, serving drinks and helping out with lunch for all golfers and volunteers).

Nick Maier personally donated two rifles over the past cou- ple of years that were raffled off during both tournaments.

Pea Ridge FOB Lodge president Michael Lisenbee said: “As a lodge, we are very grateful for his contribution which led the lodge to raise additional funds during the charity event.”

All funds raised during the event and through the rifle raffle go to the lodge, its members during any time of need and toward special events like Shop with a Cop during this upcoming holiday season.

The Pea Ridge FOP is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization that belongs to the Arkansas State Lodge and National Fraternal Order of Police.

The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 335,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today’s police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP.
