The library staff and I would personally like to thank Library Board member Jenna Scates for her years of service. Jenna has been on the board since 2014 and has played a big part in making the library what it is today. Unfortunately, Jenna’s time on our board is approaching its end with the coming new year. Though we are saddened to see her go, we embrace the opportunity to have a fresh face joining our midst.

What is the Library’s Board of Trustees and what are their duties?

They are a collection of individuals who meet on a monthly to quarterly basis to help me, the Library director, run this library exactly how you, the community, need and deserve it to be run. They vote to approve larger purchases and discuss the best programs for us to introduce. To sum it up, these generous people donate their time to help properly direct the growth of the Library.

We are now accepting applications to fill our soon to be vacant position. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and live in the city limits of Pea Ridge. The library strives to have a board of diversely skilled individuals to help creatively direct the current and future growth of what is rapidly becoming this town’s community center. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a board member, or even getting more information on what it means to be a board member, please stop by the Library. Candidates are asked to have a resume and letter of intent for why they think they would be a good fit for the open spot. Becoming a member of the Library Board of Trustees is a voluntary position in which their is no compensation received for serving.
