How’s your faith walk?

- Pastor’s Corner SCOTT STEWART Pea Ridge United Methodist and Brightwater Methodist churches

How would you describe your faith walk today?

Are you retreating, retrenching or moving forward? Are you at a standstill? In neutral? Coasting?

The kind of faith God promises to bless is “active faith” — faith that is expressed in dynamic action. The actions may be small but it is a sign of progress. You cannot simply wait quietly and piously for God to drop miracles out of the sky.

Believe that you can do much with what you have! You will be pleasantly surprised of the new discoveries, new achievements you will make as you move forward by faith. Bloom where you are planted. Be thankful where you are. Even when you are facing dark clouds, remember that “every cloud has a silver lining.” When it storms, look for the rainbow!

Beware of crude, complaining voices of cynicism that whisper to you: “Throw in the towel. It’s no use. Just quit!”

Plant your feet on the solid ground of faith. No matter how impossible the situation looks, walk the road of faith. To walk the road of faith is to expect a breakthrough in the end. An answer to prayer. Overcoming obstacles.

So call upon God to fill your mind with healthy thoughts, loving emotions and powerful motivations. Rid yourself of the black mood of despair. God will answer your prayer! You will overcome your fears! Simply yield to God. He is your Higher Power! He is your Precious Friend! He promises never to leave you or forsake you. He made you not just to win but to be an overcomer.

Have faith in God. God loves you.
