Dye Hards doubles offerings

“We have doubled the offering of cardio and weight equipment,” owner John Dye said of the new location for Dye Hards Gym on South Curtis Avenue.

“We bought additional equipment about a year and half ago in anticipation of growth. In our new spot, we have increased our classroom space to 900 square feet or about four times more than what we used to have. The total square footage has doubled in the overall gym space where we are now.”

Dye said: “We will explore offering classes as determined by the teachers we contract with.”

Carrie Hatfield will continue to be a trainer/group trainer, Dye said, and he plans to contract with Betsy Schumacher for various types of classes.

Equipment available includes Precor treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, Precor pin-select machines, a squat cage, Smith machine and a large cable crossover, and dumbbells weighing from 5 to 120 pounds.

“The new group class offerings have been a consistent request that we can now fulfill,” he said. “The additional space will be ideal for larger classes. Also the additional space for the equipment will allow more people to be in the gym without feeling cramped. We also intend to open up for outdoor training as there is a large outdoor space to do this with now.

“We will continue to utilize our classroom space for kids dance through Infiniti Dance continuing after the new year,” Dye concluded.

The gym will be open in the new location beginning today.
