Joann Johnson thought she’d never see her wedding ring again after losing the precious piece while shopping at Walmart in October. “I had given up hope,” says Johnson, 67, who’s been married to her husband, Kip, for 20 years. But the retired schoolteacher, who has stage 4 lung cancer, received a holiday miracle when she saw a Facebook post from Shiloah Avery, 29, who said she’d found a wedding ring in the box of an Instant Pot she got for Christmas. “I was in disbelief!” says Johnson. “I got my ring back for Christmas!” Since then she and Avery, who lives just two miles away, have become fast friends. Says Avery: “There’s a lesson in doing the right thing and making new friends in the process.”
