Build your best summer body ever at Philly’s newest fitness havens.
Think that the Philly fitness bubble has finally burst? Not even close. Following a slew of openings in 2016, this year promises even more high-intensity spinning, stretching, and strength training. Here, four new studios to feel the burn.
SOUL TRAIN
Celeb-approved spinning sanctuary Soulcycle has at long last opened a second studio in Rittenhouse. If Ardmore is any indicator, Philly’s fittest will be heatedly vying for these 58 bikes. Anthony Dimaggio, VP of development says, “The success of Ardmore has proven that there is a demand for Soulcycle in both suburban and urban areas.” Expect to burn up to 700 calories during each 45-minute class. 113 S. 16th St., 215-3987685; soul-cycle.com
SWEAT EQUITY
With eight locations across the 215, Sweat is planting its fitness flag just steps from City Hall with a new 25,000square-foot mega-gym that’s home to an indoor track and a trio of studios for spinning, barre, and Pilates classes. “We look forward to seeing Mayor Kenney sweating on the gym floor soon,” says President Tracy Shannon. 1 South Broad St., 215-5640303; sweatfitness.com
BARRE EXAM
Barre fanatics can now take their workouts up a notch with a plie in the pool. New to Philly and only at the Rittenhouse Spa, Water Barre uses the edge of the pool in place of the barre for a total-body workout that tones and lengthens muscles like your favorite barre class—but easier on joints. 210 W. REBEL YELL
Chestnut Hill’s buzzy new Rebel is a yoga studio, athleisure shop, and juice café all rolled into one Wififree lifestyle hub. But make no mistake, the killer classes are what have the Hill slipping into Spandex: The new Rise & Rebel power vinyasa flow class, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 AM, is super popular. 8020 Germantown Ave., 215-2429642; rebelyogastudio.com
