LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER

When Philadelphia Style magazine first hit the shelves in 1999, we were the underdogs, a passionate group of visionaries who banded together with the solitary mission of highlighting all of the incredible (and often untold) things that Philly had to offer. Today, we’re proud to have spent the last two decades covering every nuance of Philly’s remarkable renaissance, and honored that we’ve become a part of the cultural and social fabric of what we all know to be the greatest city in America.

And just as this city of ours continues to evolve, Philadelphia Style has now reached the next rung in our evolution. Our journey has led us from being an independent publication, to being acquired by Niche Media, to today, where we’ve now become a part of the Modern Luxury family— the country’s largest local luxury media company with 84 titles in the top 24 markets in the U. S.

What does this mean? It means that we’re going to continue bringing you the very best of the region, but we’re really taking things to the next level by committing to run 16 issues in 2018, up from our standard six. Ten issues will be the usual Philadelphia Style, covering things like the hottest fashions and coolest restaurants, plus we’ve added three additional ancillary magazines that are dedicated to topics like home design, bridal and a charity datebook that’ll make sure you’re always on top of your philanthropic game. Be on the lookout for the fun to begin in the coming months.

But despite our growth, who we are and what we stand for is never going to change. One of our guiding principles has always been that we’re not just about the genres we cover— we’re also about bringing to light the awe-inspiring Philadelphians behind the stories. The real estate developers whose grand visions and perseverance create places for Philadelphians to call home; the CEOS who hold such hometown pride that they weave the city itself into the narrative of their companies; the athletes who battle it out on the court and fields to prove that we here in Philly never back down from a challenge; the designers whose creative visions show that we have a world-class style all our own. The list of people goes on infinitely, and we’re going to continue highlighting their stories with positivity, just as we always have.

This city never ceases to inspire and embolden us, and in return, we pledge to continue bringing you the people, places and things that make our great hometown tick. I thank you all for 18 years of unwavering support, and I can’t wait to show you what’s in store for Philadelphia Style.
