This summer, Philadelphia was en fuego with some of the biggest events and grand-opening celebrations of the year. First, local R&B group Boyz II Men was honored by the city with a street dedication ceremony. The street outside of their alma mater, Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, is now proudly known as Boyz II Men Boulevard. Sun Myst
debuted its new Cryo Myst Lounge with a Frozen Bubbles party at the new Walnut Street location. Allure Window Treatments invited guests to join them for a grand-opening celebration for their Hunter Douglas Design Gallery by
Allure studio in Old City. Nearly 1,200 guests attended the 12th annual Great Chefs Event at the Navy Yard to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Vetri Community Partnership. The American Association for Cancer Research teamed up with the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson to host more than 70 golfers at Scramble Fore Research, an event that raises funds for cancer research. Exquisitely dressed guests made their way to the hat-themed Ladies Day, a special event held during the annual Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. Over the July 4th weekend, The Philly POPS orchestra performed their annual concert on Independence Mall featuring Tony Desare and Hamilton’s Mandy Gonzalez. Guests joined Nicole Miller Philadelphia for Wear with Denim, an exclusive shopping event featuring the designer’s new denim collection. Plus, The Fillmore Philadelphia hosted Wall Ball, an event that supports collaborative public arts projects, high- quality art education and training programs by Mural Arts. – Michelle Mass
