Set off on a fast-paced weekend filled with classic cars at this year’s Radnor Hunt Concours d’elegance.
Now in its 21st year, Radnor Hunt Concours d’elegance puts the pedal to the medal in September.
HAUTE WHEELS
Although Malvern’s Radnor Hunt is best known on the Main Line as a hub of the blueblooded equestrian set, each September some of the world’s most coveted collectible cars put it in park to vie for Best of Show in the Radnor Hunt Concours d’elegance. The three- day event kicks off on Friday with a barbecue and features a 150- car road rally through Chester County horse country and a black-tie gala on Saturday. But Sunday is when the automotive splendor is on full display for The 100 Motor Cars of Radnor Hunt, a world- class automotive competition on par with the Pebble Beach and Amelia Island Concours. “This year we’re featuring the race cars of Roger Penske and Abarth automobiles,” says Mike Tillson, chairman and founder of the Radnor Hunt Concours. According to Tillson, this year’s must- see model is the 1960 Porsche Abarth— a collaboration between Porsche and Italian coach builder Carlo Abarth— with only 21 cars known to have been produced.
