PRETTY AND PINK

-

Remember that warm, dry summer of 2005? Us neither. But this newly released gem of a sparkling rosé from Dom Pérignon will have you toasting that bygone season. On the nose, the Champagne offers a dense blend of tropical fruit and lightly toasted spice, while on the palate, this pink wonder shows the complexity of its pinot noir- heavy blend, featuring what Dom’s head winemaker, Richard Geoffroy, describes as a “bracing vinosity” and fi nishing with blood orange. Despite heavy rains that September (we don’t recall those either), his team “managed,” he says, “through drastic selection, to harvest grapes of exceptional quality.“$330, Fine Wine & Good Spirits, 2040 Market St., finewineandgoodspirits.com – David Zivan
