Summaries for Sept. 3-7.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: Bill had a hard time hiding his glee over the end of Liam and Hope’s relationship. Thomas became aware that Rick was manipulating him where Hope was concerned, but he agreed that she deserved a man who would give her his undivided attention. During a press conference Hope called to announce the end of her Perfect Wedding collections and her romance with Liam, Rick hijacked the event with a startling announcement of his own. Thomas pulled a stunt that left Caroline and Liam enraged, but Katie and Bill differed sharply in their advice to Liam about how to handle what he had seen at the press conference. Thomas’ stunt drove Caroline to Rick for comfort, just as he had hoped, but Thomas’ sincere confession to Hope was rudely interrupted. Stephanie gave Brooke and Ridge her blessing on their upcoming nuptials. Although Hope urged Liam to get on with his life, Liam made another plea to give him another chance.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Melanie began to have doubts about trying to block Nick’s parole and burst into the hearing declaring she had something to say. EJ offered to use his influence to get the charges against Sami dropped, but she declined. Tensions between Sami and Rafe started to ease until he discovered her lawyer had advised her to get the arresting officer to testify that she cooperated when she was apprehended, and Rafe blasted her for playing him again. Nicole tried to come up with reasons not to accept Daniel’s advice that she move in with Victor and Maggie, but when Jennifer offered to let Nicole live with her, Nicole had little choice but to accept. Sami confronted Rafe and demanded to know whether he was the father of Nicole’s baby, but Rafe lied again and said he was. Maggie was touched when she realized Nick was paroled largely on the basis of Melanie’s statement. Brady, however, warned Maggie he suspected Nick was more dangerous than ever, and Melanie felt uneasy

when she learned Nick had to remain in Salem as a parole condition. Kate taunted Sami over her promotion giving her more general power at Titan and vowed to destroy her. Sonny yearned for Will, unaware his feelings were reciprocated. Daniel welcomed Kayla back to the hospital, but he was uneasy about her plans to rehire Jennifer as the director of communications.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Todd summoned the town’s richest citizens to the Quartermaine mansion and persuaded everyone to pony up to meet Jerry’s demands. After Ewen and Jason clashed over Elizabeth, the latter two shared a tense moment as she bandaged Jason’s wound. McBain told Sam he thought he knew where to find the cure for Jerry’s poison. Steve told Kate that Ewen had taken Elizabeth and was in league with Jerry. Tracy, who remained unaffected by the poison, went to the hospital to see if she might help isolate a cure. Patrick returned to the lab for the first time since Robin’s death and tried to synthesize an antidote, with Maxie helping to decipher Robin’s notes. As they grew weaker, Sam and Jason started to wonder what might have happened if their baby had lived. As TJ and Molly scratched goals off their bucket lists, they considered a mutual item: making love together.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS: Tucker told Sharon that a romance between them would compromise her career. Later, Victoria accidentally knocked over a box, spilling all the items Sharon had stolen, although Sharon vehemently denied knowing where they had come from. Concerned about Victor’s dizzy spells, Genevieve contacted Tucker, who promised to send medication if she kept Victor from returning home. When Phyllis played along with Ronan’s story that they were having an affair, Michael insisted that she tell Nick or he would. When Phyllis tried to tell Nick, he quickly saw through her lie, however, and punched Ronan in the face at Crimson Lights. After Victoria and Nick testified against Sharon, Victoria was named interim CEO of Newman Enterprises, and the judge gave Sharon 24 hours to commit herself for psychiatric observation. Against Cane’s stern warnings, Jack ordered him to extend their credit line and frostily started divorce proceedings against Nikki. Avery advised Nick that Sharon had 72 hours to prove that she was sane and told Paul she thought Ricky’s recording might keep Paul out of jail. He was dismayed, however, when Heather told him she had thrown Ricky’s stuff away.
