Braves 11, Mets 3: Kris Medlen (8-1) extended Atlanta’s scoreless streak to 31 innings for its best string in more than 20 years and slumping Brian McCann drove in four runs with four hits as the Braves won in New York on a stormy Saturday. The wild-card leaders won their fourth in a row.

Reds 5, Astros 1: Bronson Arroyo extended his personal winning streak to five games, Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips hit solo home runs and firstplace Cincinnati bounced back from a frustratin­g loss with a win against visiting Houston. Phillips and Joey Votto both had two hits to help Arroyo improve to 8-1 over his past nine starts and 9-2 since July 6.

Dodgers 3, Giants 2: Hanley Ramirez hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the ninth as Los Angeles trimmed a game off its division deficit with a win against in San Francisco.

Brewers 6, Cardinals 3: Aramis Ramirez had three hits, including his 22nd home run, to lead Milwaukee past St. Louis at Busch Stadium. Ricky Weeks added a solo home run for Milwaukee.

Nationals 7, Marlins 6: Pinch-hitter Corey Brown’s single drove in Ian Desmond with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th, lifting Washington past visiting Florida after a 2:33 rain delay.

Diamondbac­ks 8, Padres 5: Jason Kubel hit two of Arizona’s four home runs to help the Diamondbac­ks beat host San Diego snapping a seven-game losing streak against the Padres.

American League

Orioles 5, Yankees 4: Baltimore continued its long-ball onslaught against visiting New York, hitting three home runs off CC Sabathia in a victory that moved the Orioles back into a tie atop the East. Mark Reynolds, Lew Ford and J.J. Hardy homered for the Orioles.

Athletics 6, Mariners 1: George Kottaras homered for the second consecutiv­e game and Brett Anderson won his fourth start in a row as Oakland won in Seattle.

Angels 6, Tigers 1: C.J. Wilson won his third start in a row and Mike Trout hit a leadoff homer in the first as Los Angeles roughed up Justin Verlander en route to a victory against visiting Detroit.

White Sox 5, Royals 4: Dayan Viciedo, Tyler Flowers and Paul Konerko each homered to back Chris Sale’s (16-6) six solid innings and lead Chicago to a win against visiting Kansas City.

Rangers 4, Rays 2: Rookie Jurickson Profar hit a tiebreakin­g RBI double in the 10th, helping visiting Texas beat Tampa Bay. Mike Adams (5-3) threw a scoreless inning for the win.

Blue Jays 9, Red Sox 2: Anthony Gose hit his first major league homer and drove in five runs as visiting Toronto beat Boston.

Twins 3, Indians 0: Cole DeVries pitched six scoreless innings to win his third start in a row as Minnesota beat Cleveland at Target Field.
