Beaver outlasts AAA Blackhawk

Jeremy Teams returned a blocked punt 28 yards for a touchdown with 2:09 remaining to cap a furious comeback by host Beaver (5-0) in a 41-40 win Friday night against Class AAA Blackhawk (1-4).

Blackhawk led, 40-21, with under eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter. Beaver’s comeback was fueled by Austin Ross, who tossed a 37-yard touchdown pass and rushed for a 6-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to pull the Bobcats to within 40-35 with 3:10 left before the special-team heroics.

Cole Chiappialle rushed for 227 yards and Chandler Kincade passed for 225 yards for the Cougars, who outgained Beaver 512296.
