Matt D’Amico scored 27 points, including 12 consecutiv­e Fox Chapel points late in the game, to propel the Foxes (15-4, 8-4) to a 63-59 win at Gateway (12-8, 8-4) in Class AAAA Section 2.

Seneca Valley (11-8, 6-6) outscored visiting Pine-Richland (6-12, 3-9), 12-0, in the second overtime to gain a 7260 win in Class AAAA Section 3. Josh Bauer led Seneca Valley with 20 points.

Owen Nearhoof had five 3-pointers and scored eight of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to help Mars (11-6, 8-1) take the lead in Class AAA Section 1 with a 55-53 win at Indiana (172, 8-2).

Elijah Minnie had 25 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocked shots in leading Class A No. 1 Lincoln Park (18-1, 8-0) to an 82-49 home win against No. 4 Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (14-5, 6-2) in Section 1.

Ryan Maha scored 25 points and made five of his team’s 14 3-pointers to help host West Mifflin (10-5, 6-4) defeat Class AAA No. 5 Steel Valley (13-3, 7-3), 82-70, in Section 4.

Crummie gets historic win

Heading into Friday night, top-ranked New Castle had been the only team to hand the Hampton boys a loss this season.

Add North Allegheny to the list.

Mike Carter scored 17 points to lead four North Allegheny players in double figures and the Class AAAA No. 3 Tigers earned a 68-62 home win against No. 2 Hampton in Section 3.

David Haus added 16 points, Elijah Zeise 13 and Cole Constantin­o 11 for North Allegheny (16-2, 10-2).

The Tigers (18-2, 10-2), who have won 11 consecutiv­e home games, avenged a 62-61 overtime loss Jan. 8 against Hampton.

David Huber led Hampton with 22 points and Ryan Luther chipped in 21.

Central Catholic coach Chuck Crummie earned his 600th career win in guiding the Vikings (11-8, 8-4) to an 87-61 victory against visiting Woodland Hills (0-19, 0-12) in Class AAAA Section 2. Crummie is believed to be only the 10th WPIAL coach to reach the milestone. He has a career record of 600-291.

Anthony Richards scored his 1,000th career point in helping Class AAAA No. 1 New Castle (19-0, 12-0) roll to a 7545 home win against Shaler (316, 1-11) in Section 3. Richards scored 22 points in the game and has 1,015 in his career.

Andrew Koester scored 19 points to give him 1,001 for his career, as West Allegheny (11-8, 6-5) defeated visiting Hopewell (5-11, 2-8), 81-59, in Class AAA Section 2.

Dale Clancy scored his 1,000th career point for Class AA No. 1 Seton-LaSalle (18-1, 10-0) in a 52-44 win at Washington (14-6, 8-3) in Section 4. Clancy, who scored nine points in the game, has exactly 1,000 in his career.

Stars of the night

Matty McConnell’s tripleof 22 points, 14double rebounds and 10 assists led Class AAA No. 1 Chartiers Valley (18-1) to a 61-47 non-section win against visiting Knoch (14-4).

Makil Allen had 31 points and 20 rebounds for host StoRox (8-11, 5-5) in a 62-54 overtime win against Northgate (712, 5-5) in Class AA Section 6.
