Bob retired in 1982 after 43 years from U.S. Steel Structural Department Homestead Works, also serving as treasurer for Local Union 1397 steelworke­rs. GARY A. Age 61, of Pantasma, Nicaragua (formerly of Pittsburgh), passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014. He had been ill and God called him to peace. Son of Ruth and the late Michael LaMarca; proud father of Melissa (LaMarca) Ferraro and son-in-law John Ferraro; loving Pap Pap of Felicia and Marco Ferraro; brother of the late Gayle LaMarca, Guy (Helenann) LaMarca, the late Glenn (Bettie) LaMarca, Gregg (Nancy) LaMarca, Gina ( Bill) Thompson, Griff ( Michelle) LaMarca, Gordon (Chris) LaMarca; and fun-loving uncle to Heather (Ryan) Caldwell, Tony ( Elise) LaMarca, Nate McKnight and Andrew LaMarca. Andrew was the beloved son of Tom and Tish; best friend and oldest brother to Zach, Jordan, and Carly; dearly loved grandson of John and Joan LaScola and the late Mary and Robert Poropatich. Andrew was a nephew to Thomas and Cheryl Fogarty, Bob Poropatich, Bo Swyszcz, Richard and Lynn Poropatich, Ronald and Cary Poropatich, Randolph and Shelly Poropatich, Judith LaScola, and Tina and Dan Chiavetta. Andrew is also survived by many cousins. Andrew was a Safety Specialist at Ft. Detrick and a member of American Society of Safety Engineers. He graduated with honors from IUP, with bachelor's and master's degrees in Safety Science. Andrew was a proud member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. Growing up, Andrew played hockey for the Eastern Tigers and Hampton Talbots. Some of Drew's proudest moments were on the ice. Andrew lived every moment to the fullest. A self professed "yinzer," Andrew was proud to bleed black and gold. We ask, in his honor, everyone drink a beer and cheer the Pittsburgh Penguins to another Stanley Cup. ....
