A summer community blood drive for donors age 16 and older will be held from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday in the O'Hara Elementary School auditorium, 115 Cabin Lane.

Donors will receive a pair of Pirates tickets and a Tshirt, and they will be entered into drawings to win grills and pairs of tickets to a Jimmy Buffett concert in August.

The Central Blood Bank is offering scholarships. To qualify, the high school is hosting four blood drives during the 2015-2016 school year. The scholarships will be awarded to the district with the highest percent participation and largest number of registered donations for the year.

Anyone who donates blood also can ask for the donation to count toward Fox Chapel’s total by using the code HS010025. To donate: centralbloodbank.org and enter group code C5300042 or call 412/209-7000. Walk ins are also welcome.

• School directors voted June 24 to approve the annual fees for renting district facilities and fee waivers for most groups that have a majority of NA residents. The exceptions have always been the sports fields because of maintenance. But the board decided this year to cut the fee for the baseball field at the intermediate high school to $50 for a single game if the renting organization provides its own maintenance.

School director Libby Blackburn had argued that the original $200 fee was too high, and local baseball organizations were renting fields as far away as Butler for their games.
